Handles nicely
After carrying my Canon 6D Mark II with 100-400 lens with me on every trek, 5 miles or more, every day, the Sony RX10IV is a welcome relief. I throw it in my satchel and Im good to go. So far the few photos Ive taken with it show excellent image quality but it is a learning curve regarding the technology, quite different than the Canon. This wont replace my Canon set up for BIF or Astro but Im sure once I get better acquainted with it the RX10IV will become invaluable to me. B&H, as usual, is an incredible place to do business with!

Terrific, convenient camera
I am an experienced photographer and only got this camera because of weight limits on a trip I was taking. I was not really familiar with all of the things that this camera can do but even so, I am very pleased with the shots that I got. I will never go on another trip without it because I got many shots that I would have missed with my system dslr. It is not nearly as heavy and the 24-600 lens makes travel photography fun again.

Better than the first impression and rating
I wrote a review a week or two after getting the camera and gave it a low rating. After using it for a couple of months and learning more about the multitude of settings, I am giving it a considerably better review. It works well in most situations, and it does focus much faster than my other bridge camera. I still feel that Sony would have benefited from a good manual (pdf). Love, Love Love this camera!
Great Images, easy to use, it did not disappoint. Would highly recommend buying this book as a supplement: Photographer's Guide to the Sony DSC-RX10 IV: Getting the Most from Sony's Advanced Digital Camera by Alexander S. White Gave the camera only 4 stars due to short battery life. However i was able to shoot about 300 images on a single charge.

Awesome travel camera!! Love my pix!
I bought this camera for a trip to Alaska. I didn't want to lug around my DSLR and lenses. I also wanted a camera that could handle landscape and wildlife photography. This camera was awesome!! It shot extremely well in low light. I got some truly amazing shots. I am very pleased with it.

SAFARI AND THE RX10M4
I bought the Sony RX10M4 specifically for a Safari trip which we completed over the last 2 weeks. I shot over 2000 photos and many videos. It performed superbly. It's zoom performance during single and continuous shooting were quiet, fluid and allowed me to capture quality photos without moving from secure shooting locations. When it works, it's great, when??
I have had 1 of these cameras in the repair shop 3x due to it not focusing. I had to buy a second one for my son's trip, and after 2 months, it's the same issue as the first camera. My first camera is still in repair under warranty, and they aren't telling me anything. DP REVIEW has a discussion about this issue with other owners. BEWARE!

Both the IV and the III are amazing.
Don't pay attention to the (2!?) reviews by Ovvind below. Clearly he has no idea what he's talking about. First of all, raw is compatible with Adobe photoshop (acr 10) he was just too lazy to go look for the update, or do the update. Also he states there are many better alternatives, there are NONE. Surprisingly good!
For health reasons, I am moving away from Canon Pro cameras and L telephoto lenses. The Sony is very light weight compared to my previous equipment. The menu is complicated and requires study. Thus far I've photographed wildlife up to 400mm handheld at f/4, ISO 200 and am getting tack sharp images. This is the second Sony RX10 IV that I ordered. The first one had issues with focus. This one is a keeper. Not only is it a fun travel camera, but it is meeting my needs for near pro quality photos in good light.

I love this camera. I have been an active photographer for over 60 years and this is the most versatile and convenient camera for everything I have photographed from sports to travel, nature and portraits. The one thing I really wish was included with it is a full operators manual. If it wasn't for Alexander White's Photographer's Guide to the RX10IV, I would not have bought it. There are a few minor inconveniences (ex: short battery life and difficulty removing the SD card) but I can deal with them for the versatility and convenience, not to mention the picture quality.

Would Recommend It
Works well. Produces good quality photos. The one con- I understand to keep the weight down (and cost) a plastic housing was used, but I sure would prefer better quality control buttons. I live in a very dry climate were plastic cracks easily without use so I am concerned this will soon become an issue.

Huge disappointment
My conclusion after owning this camera for 2 weeks is a huge disappointment. It is is unbelievably overrated and over-priced. I have been an active semi pro photographer for 50 years, and I have used Canon DSLR cameras for 15 years. My main activity is nature photography in general and birds in particular. Love my Sony RX10IV!!
This is the most amazing camera ever! I am a professional backcountry wildlife photographer that goes miles into the wilderness and needed a camera that did it all without all the weight and extra lenses of a DSLR. Raw not compatible with Aperture or Photoshop
When I checked before buying this camera it appeared to be compatible with Apple Aperture. Unfortunately it is not. When it is not compatible with Photoshop either, the most used editing software world wide among professionals and semi-professionals, it is very negative. An awesome camera
I loved my RX10iii, which I have used for 2 years. The RX10iv is even better. I am noticing faster focusing and the same awesome image quality. I find interchangeable lens cameras to be inconvenient so I prefer a bridge style camera. The RX10iv is clearly the top camera in this category.

what a change from my HX100
I can't believe how quick the RX 10 is compared to my old HX100. I use to miss too many shots because of the slow recovery plus the clarity is outstanding. the manual focus is better than ever.

Poor manuals
I have barely received the camera, so this is just about the manuals. They are, however, an important parts of the package you buy. I simply do not understand why Sony has chosen two separate manuals, of which the pdf version can hardly be defined as a complete manual. Great all-in-one lens.
Excellent photos taken with this 35mm equivalent 24-600mm Zeiss lens. Not too heavy to carry around and fits perfectly in the camera bag includedi in the free accessory kit. Enjoying using this camera very much.

I like the camera, but...
I really like the camera as it is giving me the range that I could not obtain with my SonyA7RII without a heavy expensive lens. However, I ordered the free accessory kit and was sent the wrong bag (Ruggard Journey 24 instead of 35), which was way too small. After 6 months
After 6 months of using the Sony RX-10 IV it is now the only camera that I use. My 5D and all the extras, including the L Series 28-300 are sitting idle. We travel a lot and it is nice to have a camera that produces great pictures without all the added weight to carry around I would highly recommend this camera

A fabulous camera!!!
I shoot travel photos, quickly catching interactions between people or views that disappear as I run to catch up with others or shoot out a bus window. This camera is absolute perfection for that. Using a hand strap, I am able -- with one hand -- to view the shot on the screen, zoom to frame it, and hit the shutter button. One hellava camera !
Excellent photos, terrific ergonomics, fantastic auto shots in all situations near and far, close in, zoomed way out der, numerous set-up choices for the professional (which I am not). I have not seen a camera better than this one and I don't think I will. I have one issue with the camera and it is related to me. My fingers no longer have the dexterity to get a good hold on the SD card to remove it for uploading my photos to my computer or iPad.

Video File Management Nightmare
I use this camera primarily for the 4K video which I mix with video from Canon DSLRs and edit in Final Cut Pro. Contrary to the detailed specs on the B&H site this camera does not offer an MP4 file option. The AVCHD and XAVC S options offered cannot be seen by Mac OS X Finder or used directly be FCPX. There are work around but they are messy and greatly complicate file management.
