We love our A9!
We are super happy with our Sony A9! We primarily use this camera for weddings and portraiture. The AF system is VERY fast and accurate thus far. Our secondary camera body is the Sony A7Rii which we do l love as well, but the Sony A9's RAW files are smaller (no deal breaker being 24mp) which allows for a faster post processing time. We plan on buying another Sony A9 when we can afford to do so.

Dream Camera
I have had a LOT of cameras over the past 20 years. The technology in this camera is incredible. 20 FPS allows me to capture sports moments I was never able to before. The ability to customize with registered settings, allow me to switch from AF-C at 20 FPS with Lock-on AF and a fast shutter speed, to AF-S, a low shutter speed and Wide focus area with one button press. Release the button and I'm back to how the camera is set. No missed shot opportunities with this camera.

Just got the new Sony A-9
I've only had it a week, but already appreciating what it can do. Ergonomics are better--especially the grip and the placement of the movie button. I use the new top dials a lot. When I encountered a long stream of cyclists coming up a hill, I was able to use focus tracking to keep the lead cyclist in focus as he approached. So far, all the raves I've read in reviews appear to be true.

More keepers. More fun.
I own a Canon 1Dx II, Canon 5DIV, and Nikon D500. I owned the Sony a7rII but sold it as at the end of the day, it never focused nearly as well as the aforementioned cameras. I'll put it simply, the a9 gives me more keepers than my Canon 1Dx II, and is easier and more fun to use to boot. I have the a9 configured to where I can get 4 different AF Areas (with AF activated by the push AND associated with preferred AF-S or AF-C) with 4 different buttons. It's a dream. Never really need to go into the menus to change AF Mode nor AF Area. Keep going Sony...

A9 is really great but with exceptions
I am a Pro and have 5 Canon bodies and 29 Canon lenses from 8-800 mm and 6 Sony a series bodies and 12 Sony lenses. I shoot everything from extreme macro, wildlife, sports, weddings, video, landscapes, commercial, architecture and portraiture. All of the good points from all other reviews are correct, the camera is a joy to use. In a week I have shot fast running dog portraits, slow mo of fire scenes, a concert at a famous Juke Joint, sailboat ra... Show More

Don't Overlook for Weddings and Events (From a Canon User)
I'm a professional photographer who has used Canon my whole career. I had been eyeing Sony for awhile due to my intrigue on their technology, and the fact that a few of my friends and colleagues had started shooting with their products, and raved about them. Up until the a9 though, Sony just didn't offer the complete package of what I needed. This review is biased to me and my needs, but hopefully you can find it helpful anyway. BTW, this is my f... Overheating issues ??
I'm a career professional photographer; shooting with a variety of systems: Sony, Canon, Leica, and Hasselblad. During relatively routine light duty camera use with the Sony a9, at temperatures below 75 degrees, also under the following conditions.. Camera had been on less than one half hour, took less than fifty stills at highest mp settings on raw file format, also took less than two minutes of video on best quality settings. At the end of less... Show More

Absolutely Excellent
I have been in Sony for a while and I currently own an a7Rii and now the a9. I shoot portraits, landscape, wildlife, and occasional sports. I have loved the a7Rii and I will certainly keep it for landscape and as a second body, but this a9 is perfect for all other situations. Several highlights of my experience: The ergonomics are excellent. I love the joystick, and I set the center press to change focus modes and/or the focus point size. It work... Show More

Hope and Pray no problem with this Camera
The reason is simple, Sony does not do it's repairs in house, they use outside service and i can speak from experience, had problems with 2 Sony cameras and it took over 3 months each time to be repaired.....Sony repair service is absolutely the worst!.....Pray there is no issue with this camera.......

A Micro USB tether port does not belong on a pro camera
the Micro USB / Multiport makes this camera unprofessional.
