Great body, Eye AF is a game changer
What I like: Eye AF is absolutely amazing. Finds the eye nearly anywhere in the frame and is very quick to focus and track. Huge benefit! Coming from a DSLR (D750), the exposure preview of the EVF is super nice. BSI sensor is extremely good and works well at high iso Video capabilities are great What I do not like: Rather small body - pinky hangs off Not quite as weather sealed as comparable DSLRs Menu is terrible. Very confusing to customize b... Show More

Have A7R3 and Added A73 BUT Beware!
Although I have not used it yet I am sure the camera and its systems are GREAT like my A7R3 BUT!!!!! Seriously, the base body does NOT come with a battery charger or a cable holder. REALLY Sony... Did a $10 charger and a $1 plastic cable support threaten to break the bank??? I guess they expect us to buy theSony BC-QZ1 Battery Charger for $88. Sony you cheeped out. Sensor Error/Defective unit.
The first thing I did once I received this camera was charge it. Once charged I managed to get some great pictures with the camera and then turned it back off again. Whenever I tried to turn it back on I was unable to. I kept hearing a knocking sound coming as if coming from the sensor. As this was happening, the screen would also flicker and go from white to black. Not sure if I received a defective body unit or a defective battery, but I... Show More

Great Camera
I am a Sony shooter and now I upgraded to A7iii from Sony a7II. I'm very happy with that, the difference is considerable, especially when thinking at improved autofocus capabilities and low light performance. Focuses very quick and the Eye autofocus works like a charm. The image remains impressively clean and sharp at high ISO's. Battery lasts much longer, the buffer is considerably improved, the viewfinder gets sharp and clean images, the silent... Show More

Amazing Camera
I have owned other Sony cameras and this is by far the best I have owned. Since I have owned previous Sony DSLR and an A6000, set up was very easy right out of the box. The firmware that came with my camera was 3.0 so I did not have issue with 3rd party battery that came with my camera kit. I love the fact that B&H added an extra battery and charger with the kit. Battery life is fantastic with this camera. I went for over 5 hours of wildlife p... Show More

Impressive!
I have had my a7III for just over a week. The files are very good. I bought this camera with the Sony 28-70kit lens, which I find very good. I also purchased the Sigma MC 11 adapter, and it works very well with my Canon 17-40, 85 1.8, 24-105. and both of my Tamron 2.8 zooms, 24-70, and 70-200. I have only tested the normal zone focus using back button to lock in focus. I found the focus quite fast and on par with my kit Sony lens. I kind of think... Show More

The best camera I've ever owned.
What a professional camera packed into a portable, budget friendly body. I feel like a real pro when shooting with my A7iii between the (almost completely - that dang battery door) weather sealing, 10fps burst, eye af, and fantastic Sony, Zeiss, and Sigma glass! My 70-200 f4 lives on my A7iii. My only concern is the shutter life at a low 200,000 vs. the 500,000 on my A7rii. Why make a camera capable of this burst rate and buffer if you're not goi... Kit lens for USD200. Camera: Great Dynamic range on stills and video(I mostly use it for stills). Good battery life not the best but great. After Nikon and Canon releases, I'm happy I picked Sony.
I ordered this camera with a 2 week backorder, and during that time Canon and Nikon were releasing their cameras. And I was worried to say the least, wondering if I had made a rushed decision with the Sony cam. My defending logic in purchasing this one was that, Sony has been making mirrorless cameras for the past 5 years. Nikon and Canon will be releasing their first ever, and there's no doubt they will have some mistakes and things they will im... Show More

World Domination
It's almost insulting what other manufactures are offering for the price compared to this Sony a7iii. I've been a Canon shooter for 14years, so I have plenty of lenses, but I've made the jump and love this camera. Only issue if you can call it that is video records under another file on SD cards so when you download all your images, you have to download images, then video... not a big deal, but I did format my card for the first time and lost 2 s... Mixed Feelings
I moved from a full frame nikon to the Sony. As many have said, its menu system is a challenge and there arent as many youtube videos or writeups on how to work with different functions. Its a different beast from an DSLR and has a steep learning curve. With the kit lens, doesnt seem as sharp as a Nikon kit lens. I plan to use my Nikon lenses with the camera but an adapter for Nikon is not yet available. The wide variety of accessory options for... Show More

Great camera
I am a freelance filmmaker who does a lot of low budget, one man band type shoots and I love this camera. I use this camera for 90% video and 10% photo work. I bought it because I wanted to upgrade from my A7Sii, which is a great camera with a hand full of shortcomings. The way I look at it, this camera is an A7Sii with all the major issues fixed, which is great for my type of work. Pros: - Image quality (pictures and video) - Low light - Auto f... Show More

I understand while everyone isn't able to purchase this camera because of stock reasons, I would 100% recommend this camera to anybody looking to switch over to Sony (unless you're shooting with like... a 1dx, 1dxmii, or maybe a 5dmiiii). I upgraded from a Canon rebel t6i and WOW. I mostly shoot video so when I witnessed how fast and accurate this af system was, I was completely blown away. Thank God For The New Battery Low Light No Great Shakes
I had an A7RII and loved it. However, the battery was so bad that I usually ran it down, whilst trying to figure out the menus. Don't believe all the "spectacular" low light performance. It is virtually identical to the A7RII and probably the A7RIII. I too LOT'S of photos in low light and wrestled with trying to tell them apart. Same noise is usually visible. However, there is a slight advantage in that you can shoot a tad faster. How about 1/60th instead of 1/40? No big deal. However, I saved enough to get a faster lens. That is the only way you will get spectacular low light performance.

Christmas everyday
This camera is awesome. 693 detection is incredible, built well feels great in your hand. I was excited to pre-order this and got it before release date from B&H photo. B&H Photo is always been an awesome company to get your stuff from always reliable with great customer service. I look forward to shooting with this camera this weekend with a variety of Sony Auto lenses. I don't think you can go wrong with this camera it's a great beginning and professional camera the same time it does take a little bit time to figure out all the menus but that's life. One of the best cameras this year out

My best camera so far
Left Nikon and I am a new Sony user. Cant say i fully manage the settings yet. Nikon was more intuitive and logic. But quality of pictures and low light quality makes up for everything. I can now rescue 98% of to bright and dark pictures and even mixed to dark and to bright pictures. Max Lightroom compensation ofhighlights and shadows rescues my bad pictures to a level I never seen. The sensor has stored more info than you can imagine. Picture shapnes and qality is pefect. But colours is more natural than Nikons so old batch settings in lightroom and Capture Nx need to be colour upgraded.

Game Changer for on the fly lighting changes.
I grew up shooting Canon mk1, then mk2, then mk3, they decided to give mirrorless a shot. I loved the what you see is what you get on the back LCD. No fiddling taking snap shot after snap shot to adjust exposures or testing f stops for a desired Bokeh. Its amazing to pick my f stop for my blur, set my shutter speed and just dial in my iso by watching the LCD without taking one pic. I do a lot of wedding photography and the constant lighting changes going from room to room inside and out made manual iso a breeze. I will probably never go back to DSLR. Thanks Sony for an amazing product.

Stunning results
I am an amateur. Educated but still amateur. I began in the world of Ikoflex and Voigtlander (couldnt afford Rolleiflex and Leica). Transitioned to digital in the first Canon era and recently went Sony via both a 6500 and now the a7 III. I have discovered heaven. Instant focusing that ended my myopic focusing problems. Plenty of pixels for my penchant for low light photography. I can capture images I cannot se with my naked eye. More flexibility than I can use. Thus far there is nothing not to like. 6500 with a short lens in my packet, A7 III in my hand. What more can a person ask?

Beast!
I had been shooting on the original A7 since it came out, the A7iii is truly an upgraded version in every way, the high dynamic range this camera produces is absolutely stunning! For me personally 24 megapixels is more than enough to do anything really, without slowing me down and taking up too much space. The auto focusing of this camera is a beast! If your deciding between Sonys many amazing full frame cameras and are struggling on where to land, struggle no more and feel confident on this one! I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone! Great all around workhorse!

I love this Sony A7iii camera!
I'm a camera enthusiast, and I'm thrilled with this camera. Taking soccer photos was a breeze with the fast focus on this camera. It's lighter than my Nikon D750, and for the first time I have a new camera that rivals my Nikon for serious shooting. Yes, it would have been nice to have a charger, but I purchased one, and I'm not looking back. My Menu is definitely helping me find my favorite settings fast, and my experience with prior Sony cameras helps me too. I don't think you'll regret getting this camera - if you can find it. I pre-ordered this one, and I'm so glad.

Great Camera
We upgraded to these at my place of work. I have used the A7s...sii and the rii as well. I can say that the A7iii is hands down a better overall camera. The ability to shoot stills and video with the same camera has been an amazing advantage for us. Especially because we shoot a lot of events in which we need to deliver both interviews/B-roll and pictures. I will say though, unfortunately one of the cameras we purchased began having a communication problem with the lens after our first shoot. B&H was happy to replace it. Hope that this isn't something that happens again.

Full Frame: absolutely worth it
I back-and-forthed for a while about upgrading to this from Sonys aps-c line, and I am so glad that I took the leap. The image quality is noticeably better (smoother would also be a good word), the colour and dynamic range is fabulous. And solid battery life, thank god! If youre on the fence, go for it and get some quality glass while youre at it. Im using the 85 1.8 and the 24 1.4 GM and holy crapballs. Anything bad about it... the flexible spot icon is very hard to see against even a moderately dark background, so that can be annoying. Thats about it! -Jonathan

Stability Issue?
Up arrival my first action is to charge the battery, and then turn it on. The LCD shows nothing. Very strange behavior. (I own more than 10 other models including other Sony models so it is not me not knowing cameras). Fool around it one way or another and eventually got it working, but suspicious. Yesterday took it our first time. It resets it twice without any reason - on my regular should strip. Wired. Will observe a few more days to find out whats really going on, reluctant to return unless I have too. Anyone had similar encounters of such issue? Please advice.

I love it!
I have been shooting DSLR and Digital for a long time, and using mirrorless for a few years. This is leaps and bounds better than the previous generations of mirrorless cameras. This camera finally feels like the ergonomics were designed by a photographer, not an engineer. If you have used a mirrorless camera in the past you will not be disappointed by this new model. Auto focus is fast, the sound of the shutter is very nice, low light ISO capabilities are fantastic. I highly recommend this to anyone that is in the market for this kind of camera and can afford it!
