Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 16-50mm Lens (Black)
Perfect camera
This is as amazing as it's made out to be. Such an incredible camera for being so small. I have a canon g12 as my travel companion but I think the Sony a6000 is far superior. You won't be disappointed with this purchase.

Good photos but terrible battery life
This could be a 5 star camera, but you only get a few minutes of video or 90 photos. My Canon gats about 1000. You don't get a battery charger which makes it worse. It takes 5 hours to charge the battery. I've ordered a battery charger for the camera, which lets you charge a battery while you are taking photos, otherwise the camera is sidelined while you charge the battery by plugging in the power supply into the camera. It takes 5 hours to charge the battery. I would recommend the camera if you don't take lots of photos or willing to accept the short battery life.

Lives up to great reviews
I picked the a6000 because I was tired of lugging around a big DSLR, especially since the whole mirror thing seems so old fashioned now. This little guy is a real beast in terms of power. The functions are pro-grade and image quality is really excellent. The focus is off the hook good. The only thing that's strange about it is that it's so small, traditionalists don't take it seriously. That's there problem though. They'll learn. THe battery goes pretty quickly. Must buy more.

sony a6000
I am a mid range photographer and will use this for my personal photo shoots. I have had the Sony for 2 weeks and so far, I am thrilled with it The relief of no heavy weight is great and the clarity of the pictures is very good. I have the 16-50mm lens and see no problem with what it is designed to do. I also got a Sony telephoto lens. The only problem is no instruction booklet but there are you-tube presentations that are very helpful.

Lighten the Load
I was looking for a small camera to carry when I don't want to carry the heavy Nikons, this camera fit the bill. The fact that there are adapters to use My arsenal of Nikon lenses made it even more likeable. I gave 4 stars as it eats batteries, but I think that is an issue with most mirrorless cameras.

Great Camera
The Sony A6000 is awesome! So many features. Buying this camera is like setting off on an adventure. You don't know where it is going to take you. I have taken some great pics and not so great pics. The learning curve is steep. I am an amateur at best, but I live discovering new things and learning. You will learn a lot taking pics with this camera.

Compact and worth every penny
I have owned mostly canon brand cameras in my lifetime. My favorites were the old styled A-1 and AE-1P. My new A6000 handles a lot like those bodies and it is my favorite attribute. It's smaller body allows me to carry it nearly everywhere I go so when I get inspiration, I have my camera ready. I chose the white body because I liked it. Life is too short to be judged by those who judge color of camera body over quality of pictures. You will have ... Show More

Awesome Beginner Camera
My wife and I purchased this camera for an upcoming trip to Europe. We are tired of our phone cameras and the inconsistent quality we get capturing important moments with them (eg low light). We are novice (not even amateur) level photographers. Here are a few things we love about this camera in no particular order: . great price; . easy to use auto focus; . shoots 11 frames per second action shots; . very customization to our own needs; . featur... first mirror less, kit lens, early experiences
after sitting on the fence for years, I finally made the plunge and bought a sony a6000. The sheer size difference between it and my Canon 5d mk 3, and 7d mk 2 is staggering. Arriving on an event shoot, I immediately realized there was very little room for me to maneuver, or wield my usual arsenal. with 5d on my shoulder, I began shooting the event with the sony, changing lens as needed Due to the layout, it often meant shooting above the crowd, ... Very impressed with images quality and cameras features
One of my favorite features is to be able to take multiple shoots with excellent quality images. If you need to catch a moment as your children run or jump - this is the best camera.

great little guy
I use the sony a6000 as both a backup camera and as a carry around camera. I like its small size and 11fps bursts. It can with an adaptor use Nikon G type lenses

Great travel camera
I use this camera for traveling and replaced my canon 60D. Image quality and portability definitely is definitely better. Combine it with a 35mm f1.8 lens and you have one of the best street photo combo! One downside is I have to carry some extra batteries, but the 3rd party manufactured batt is so cheap I didn't really care too much.

Excellent Value
It is hard to believe the amount of technology packed into this tiny body. I have used this with the Sony 70-200mm f4, Zeiss Loxia 2/35 and 2/50. All the lenses worked well with this body. The primary reason I bought this was to pair it with my a7r for when I wanted to shoot sports photos. It has handled this task very well. I do not understand why people make as much of a big deal about the battery life. While it is not as good as your typical DSLR it's not that bad.

Great Camera!!
Getting back into digital photography has brought me to this camera and I love what this product can do!! There are so many features on this camera that you can practice with and learn a lot! What made me get this camera over a Nikon or Cannon is that I can get much more camera for the same amount of money. This camera by far out does an entry level and mid level Canon or Nikon and that really caught my attention. There are also several professio... Show More

Great Camera for Price and Size
This camera has been a nice transition from my Nikon entry level DSLR. It takes great photos, provides enough manual control, and is small enough to easily carry around. The menu functions are good once you get the hang of them, but I'm not sure I'll ever get used to the digital viewfinder. Although, that shouldn't really be a criticism. The autofocus and manual focus controls are good and quick. Overall this is a great camera with excellent photo quality due to the large sensor.

A very capable compact DSLR
This is my go to camera when I travel. I like the results of using this camera with 55-210mm/f4.5-6.3 OSS shooting handheld. The combination is possibly the most compact and lightweight outfit of that focal range among all DSLRs. Sony packs a lot of technologies in this camera. So in terms of photography I think my creativity is the limit. Though a lot of good things can be said about this camera, there are a couple of things that need improvemen... Show More

excellent camera
I still use full frame larger DSLRs for in-studio portraiture, but for travel, I've moved completely to the Sony mirrorless E-Mount system. I use the A7; this a6000 replaced an NEX-7 (which I gave to a son for his trip). I've used in now for about a month. It is very quick focusing and somewhat better high ISO than the NEX-7. It's a pleasure to use. The menus are the same as the A7; the camera is totally customizable. Images are excellent. Video ... Show More

Neat camera but Sony is a cheapskate
I got the a6000 as a second camera to my Nikon DSLR. It is really good - sharp pictures, comfortable to hold, good features and great burst mode. It loses at least one rating star due to Sony being a real miser. The instruction manual that comes with it is a joke. It only goes into the most basic operation and does not go into hardly any of the menu options. I was OK due to my familiarity with Nikon DSLRs and going online for additional guidance.... Show More

Best mirrorless camera to start with
Bought this camera as my second A6000 to travel with. Small size, large well-designed sensor, focus peaking and ability to use with my legacy Leica lenses and newer Sony and Sony Zeiss lenses make it perfect for landscape, portrait and street photography. No down sides found yet; with external flash can use off-camera TTL flash lighting to produce professional results. I am most impressed with this iteration of Sony's NEX/Alpha camera line; they hit a home run with the A6000 in my opinion.

Great little camera!!!
Excellent little camera!!! Excellent image quality!!! Not very intuitive to use. Not an extensive user manual. Had to take Youtube tutorials to figure how to use it and it took time to figure out menu but once I did I was pleased with the result. Still learning!

easy to use
I purchased this item a little under a month. I've used it several times now. It's very easy to use and easy to try out different setting. I chose the sigma 30mm prime lens and it works very well will the camera. The pictures come out great even in low light. I love that it's lightweight so I can carry it with me everywhere. I haven't tried all the features and also I am a novice so I am giving it 4 stars.

Love it!!!
I'm in love with my new Sony a6000! It's super light and it takes really nice photos! I would recommend buying different lens. It makes a differences on the quality of photo. The lens that came with the camera also works well too. I would recommend this camera. I'm at a beginner level and excited to explore more on what this camera is capable of capturing! I love how this camera has wifi! It's hassle free when you want to upload your pictures straight to your phone or computer. I don't have to worry about finding the cord to upload my photos.

This camera keeps me under the radar during intimate events and consistently provides quality captures. Once you learn the menu and complete a personal setup, the A6000 substantiates the benefits of mirrorless technology.
