Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 16-50mm Lens (Graphite)
Perfect size
I love my Sony a6000 so far. I'm still getting use to it, but the camera is easy to figure out. I also have a Lumix (10MP) DMC-LX5 which started acting up right after the warranty went off. It changes settings in the auto mode to settings from the Scene mode. The Sony a6000 is nice because you don't have to dig into the menu as deep as some other cameras. I don't like the in camera battery charger, so I bought a charger and a extra battery. What's nice about buying a battery from B&H is you will get the original equipment (Sony battery) & not a knock off.

Great camera with many options to customize
This camera is very versatile. It is super light weight and small enough to carry anywhere; but has all the functions of a professional camera. It has great features that I hadn't seen on other cameras before, like the view hole on the side of the camera instead of the center, so your nose is not on the way. Also, you can move the screen 180 degrees to have a view of the shot from any angle. It has many interesting functions that allow you to play with photography in a whole new level, like the face recognition setup to keep focus on specific people!

Better than Expected
I was considering the Nikon D7200, but I'm very glad I went with the Sony A6000. Not only is this camera lightweight and compact, it has endless features. Watch some tutorials online- like Gary Fong's videos, and read up on all the camera has to offer and take advantage of Sony's technology. I use this indoors, outdoors, to take pictures of active children, at theme parks--in scenarios where you don't have much time to change settings, but this camera makes adapting quickly easy. I love it so far. I only wish the screen revolved all the way around.

Nice kit
I'm not a professional photographer. Not even close to an amateur photographer. I only take pictures of my family on special events. I bought this camera to replace my Canon 40D with 17-55(2.8). So far it has blown away my Canon in picture quality. I need to learn to control the autofocus better because I am struggling to get my slow moving objects properly focused. But when I do so, the pictures are gold. The menu system is overwhelming.. but probably because I'm an old dog.. I look forward to exploring the features and taking better pictures.

high performance camera
bought this camera prior to a European vacation. Did not plan on a Sony, but the specs spoke for themselves, so we decided on this camera. Hard to take a bad picture. The intelligent auto mode adjusts beautifully as the scenery changes. Even in the darkness of the Parisian catacombs and cistern in Istanbul, no flash required. Shutter speeds adjusted accordingly and captured beautiful photos. I am a simple point and shoot kind of guy. Highly recommend this camera for the novice photographer looking for a reasonably priced, high performance rig.

Love it!!!
I'm in love with my new Sony a6000! It's super light and it takes really nice photos! I would recommend buying different lens. It makes a differences on the quality of photo. The lens that came with the camera also works well too. I would recommend this camera. I'm at a beginner level and excited to explore more on what this camera is capable of capturing! I love how this camera has wifi! It's hassle free when you want to upload your pictures straight to your phone or computer. I don't have to worry about finding the cord to upload my photos.

Really good travel camera
Bought the camera for my wife. I also bought the 55-210 f4.5-6.3 lens. We are very pleased. She is especially pleased with the white camera. In fact, it is probably over kill for an amature's travel camera but we like the size and feel and the results have been outstanding. She has bought some small accessories such as screen protectors. If it had a touch screen, I would have given it 5 stars. I put a Nikon to Sony lens adapter on one of my old (1971) Nikor lenses. It took good pictures But won't come off of the lens! I sent it in for repair.

awesome sauce
Great powerful camera. Such a small device with good weight and amazing features especially compared to standard DSLR's. Very comparable to other high end DSLR if not better. Don't let the mirror less feature fool you into thinking low quality images. Great new technology in my opinion. Only drawback in my situation; you can't simultaneously take bracketed photos with a timer. It has to be taken manually holding the button down throughout the shots. For those who do HDR imaging, I recommend you also purchase a cable release to counteract it.

Excellent
I've been shooting left and right with the camera. learning about all its features and trying to use as many as possible. The camera is EXCELLENT and I'm truly happy I bought it. I think I could have done with out the 16-50mm lens. It seems to stretched the images at their frame edges. However, it came truly handy last weekend during the the crossfit northeast regionals. the ability to zoom in out was right on the money. The battery life was pretty decent a solid 7hrs with enough left over juice. Bottom line, the Sony Alpha a6000 is superb!

Great Camera
I am just starting to get into photography as a passive hobby as it is something that I really enjoy during travels with my wife. I wanted a workhorse camera that was still small enough that packing would be easy. After a few weeks of use, this camera really fits the bill. So many great features and fantastic picture quality. I would reccomend buying an extra battery as you will not get a full day of shooting out of just the one in which it includes. I am loving this camera so far, and cant wait to use it on my trip to Italy in September.

Sony A6000 impressions
Recently purchased Sony A6000. Although I have Canon and Nikon Dslr cameras .. I've always been intrigued with mirrorless cameras. With a lot of positive reviews on A6000 .. I decided it was time to see what all the mirrorless chatter is about. Although I've only had camera a few weeks .. I really enjoy using it. It takes sharp photos .. fast focusing .. light/small enough to carry around with me. I can easily see me using A6000 more and more .. leaving my Dlsr(s) at home. In my opinion I can take as good or better photos with A6000....

It's what I hoped for!
This camera is everything I hoped for. I use Canon cameras and lenses for work, but I wanted something personally with just as much capability, but wasn't nearly as big. This is perfect. I recommend getting the a6000 with the kit lens, and also looking at getting a few other lenses that suit your needs. If you're looking for a great camera at half the cost of a bigger DSLR, you found it. I've seen complaints about the battery only shooting about 400 photos - my battery has shot around 1000 before it died. So, not sure what that's about!

As Great as I could possibly expect.
I purchased this camera to have updated video features and a small walk around camera. I do not like the sensor size of the m43 camera's and wanted to adapt my Nikon glass. This camera has blown my expectations out of the water. Great clean clear image, and I love the colors and look straight out of camera RAW for photo's. The EVF is very responsive and almost no shutter lag. Amazing camera, and a must have for video shooters looking for a light package. If only it had XAVC-S like the upcoming A7s, then this camera would be perfect.

sony gets my vote for its innovation
This is the perfect every-day walk-around camera for semi professional or enthusiast like me. Over all it fit the role I wanted it for. My set-up is Sony A6000 f4/ 16-70 Zeiss Lens 998.00 cost moore than camera. This lens very sharp, it takes much better pictures compared to kit lens. I used side by side Canon 6D $dollars camera with prime 24-105 lens, Sony has the edge. Canon lost its bang. I do not want to carry heavy camera when I travel. Sony gets my vote for its innovations. Thank you B@H FOR YOUR PERSONAL PERFORMANCE AND HELP.

Amazing, get one!
I almost could not believe the amazing quality of a neutral RAW file, even in low light. Quite impressive, after years of eschewing C size sensors all I can say is I am delighted. Bought it with the kit lens but using the Sony/Zeiss 24 1.8 prime. Even at 2x the price of the body this lens is worth every dollar. Fast and very accurate AF that has the sensor nearly entirely covered. My first camera with an EV,I really like being able to review through this, much clearer than any rear screen. Appears to handle high ISO extremely well.

Great camera
The camera is great. Don't take my word for it. Read almost any of the professional reviews. It's light weight, sturdy, and has both a viewfinder and a tiltable rear LCD screen. I find the Function (Fn) button on the rear of the camera particularly useful. Here you can program up to 12 commonly used menu options and view them all (and change their settings) by simply pressing this one button. I also like that you can opt to disable the LCD screen, use only the viewfinder, and thereby save on battery life - which is pretty limited.

An excellent camera and a real advance
I now use this and the Nex-6. I miss the horizon level function in the viewfinder on the a6000, but a small price to pay, I guess (though I wish they'd have kept it, even at a higher price for the camera) for the improvements in other regards. The downgrade in resolution of the EVF is made up for by the quality of the image and the utter usabilty, even in assisted manual focus mode (DMF). All in all, I'm very happy to use both cameras, and I appreciate the somewhat greater resolution and higher quality of the sensor in the a6000.

Exceptional quality, everyday use and special occasions
I'm a new photographer with a little experience borrowing a Nikon D3000 and Cannon Rebel t4. I've always loved the quality of these dslrs but hated how clunky they are. The mirrorless compactness of the a6000 is so so convenient. I am actually taking it along with me on my day to day. It doesn't feel like such a commitment to carry it along. And I have the best photos on instagram now! I also use it for my art business, documenting my fine art to transfer to prints. It's not as crisp as scanning but it works for smaller prints.

Great lightweight camera
I am not a professional but like to take photos and want them to be reasonably good. This camera is light weight and thus easy for me, an older person, to carry. And so I am more likely to do so. Although they, too, are lightweight, It takes better pictures than a cell phone or tablet and has the ability to manually adjust all parameters. It can take rapid pictures, panoramic pictures and automatically adjusted pictures. The only negative is that the battery life is not as good as my Canon 7D. But it has not been an issue yet.

Easy to use.
I picked this camera up a few days before we went to Rome. I'm familiar with the DSLR platform, but still a novice photographer. The pictures were incredible. The small size was perfect since we walked almost everywhere and often in large crowds. I used the Sony 20mm Alpha E-Mount lens, which again I loved for the size and the incredible wide angle shots. I only took around 600 pics, over the course of a week in all light settings. Only had a few bad shots, due to my skills or lack there of. Would highly recommend this camera.

Extremely disappointed
Purchased this camera in January 2017. Turned it on last week and screen indicates "camera error, turn off and on again". After trying everything suggested by other users and Sony the error message still appears. The solution? Send in for diagnostic repair at cost of approximately $300. From my research this appears to be not an uncommon problem. Extremely disappointed that Sony puts out a product that fails shortly after warranty expires and then expects you to pay an amount that renders the camera worthless. Buyer beware!!

Small and Excellent Camera
I bought this camera for video and snap shots. I am not a cellphone photographer. I need a real camera. This one delivers excellent images with the Sigma 30mm f2.8 lens. That is the only lens I bought for it because Sony doesn't seem to have good, inexpensive lenses. The three Sigma lenses built for the E mount are all very good and reasonably priced, if not fully functional with the AF system. No worries. Just keep your subject in the middle portion of the frame and images will be very sharp with excellent color and range.

Great camera...mirrorless or otherwise.
Bought this for my daugter for a graduation gift. She had been shooting an older dslr I gave to her and really wanted to try mirorless. Since she has shown such a passion for photography (and many pictures better than mine) we bought it. Best choice we made! She loves it and shoots even more now, with even better results. Sharp, great color, and quick focus. The EVF isn't as sharp as the a6300 or 6500, but it sure is cheaper, and gets you what you need to frame good pictures if you don't want to compose on the back screen.

Great travel camera!
Purchased this and the Zeiss 16-70 f4 for a trip to the Holy Land. The reviews on low-light performance sold me and I was not disappointed. Not sure if as good as my Canon 6D with the 24-105 but pretty darn close and a lot lighter to lug around. The only downside and not a really fair comparison is the the full-frame 6D allows for some serious cropping and still have a usable image. Very impressed with low-light video! Yes you need extra batteries but small price to pay to keep such a small form factor while traveling.
