Nearly Perfect Travel Camera
Great for travel, this versatile camera fits in a large pocket (i.e., not in your jeans pocket but easily in khaki pants or a jacket pocket). I like the zoom range (25mm to 250mm optic, up to 1000mm digital) and the EVF, which although smaller than ideal is very helpful in bright sunlight. Photo quality very good, sufficient for very large prints. Incredible (if overwhelming) number of controls. One small gripe the camera is unusually slippery, but I added a Flipbac G3 Camera Grip ($10), which solved that problem.

ZS100 - Yumm
Okay - this is my third Lumix pocket camera. I use a Sony RX10 IV and a couple Nikon DSLRs for business. This one is pretty easy to navigate (of course there are more options than I can figure out) to get nice, images. I had to look around to activate the iZoom and/or Digital Zoom options, but they work fine. I'm just starting to edit a couple events. I use this for my heavy ProBono load - ha! With a belt case, it is easy to pick out the camera and shoot. So far, it is terrific. I'll post more info in the future.

Great performance with good reach in a pocketable package.
There are times and situations when you want great results and/or you need full manual controls, but with something that can fit inside a pocket. Up until now large sensor point-and-shoots had either limited zoom ranges or were so big one might as well be lugging around a full DSLR kit. This changes the game. I could do with an option to disable the touchscreen, though. I'm left-eye dominant and my nose ends up selecting the focus point when I hold my eye to the viewfinder, but that's the only drawback.

Fantastic Portable with Professional Features
After searching for a few years for a walk-about camera (didn't want to carry my DLSR & Lenses) I finally decided on this camera. The zoom range is perfect for city walks and vacations, the range finder and touch screen are two great alternatives and the large sensor outputs JPG and RAW! Shooting modes from fully automatic to fully custom make it equally as functional as my main set of gear. Other similar cameras trade off smaller sensor size for more zoom, don't have a view finder or don't output RAW.

Nice camera!
The camera had everything I wanted: small size, integrated lens cap, view finder, and LCD screen. It takes nice photos. The touch screen is great. Haven't figured out how the WiFi gets photos from the camera to our laptop. There are a LOT of features so I've ordered a book on how to use it in addition to the on-line manual. (Probably many more features than I will ever use.) B&H answered my query as what would be a good camera meeting my criteria, and once ordered, it was sent and arrived quickly.

Top Dog
I settled on the Panasonic Lumix ZS100 after weeks of research on the incredible number and varieties of cameras available. My choice came down to portability, features, reviews, and price. I also love the weight and color of silver-red. I am so pleased by my selection. The camera is above my beginner level but with the additional assistance of an Amazon photographer's guide book on this camera I am on my road to fabulous shots and fun. This was a gift to myself for my 65th birthday.

Perfect travel companion
Bought the Lumix DMC-ZS100 for a vacation where I did not want to lug around my D810 and host of lenses. Critical to my purchase was lens speed, sharpness, and length. The ZS100 met and exceed all of my criteria. I will need another vacation to figure out the full range of its capabilities - and it is a huge range. Basic functions of aperture and exposure adjustment were very easy to use and the custom image settings made for some remarkable scenes. Night portrait was really nice.

Jacketable Camera balances Image Quality with 10x Zoom
This camera is just a little too large to fit into your jeans pockets, but can fit into a small carry case you can wear on your belt - making it that camera that is always with you. It works well for closeup - and the zoom range produces good landscapes, portraits, and head shots. While it has an electric view finder, I find that I use the touch screen to set the focus point. It produces both JPEG and RAW files so you can do editing afterwards. This is a perfect travel camera.

Got tired of carrying the SLR and lenses everywhere
The camera takes excellent pictures and were I not coming from using an SLR all my life would probably warrant a 5-star rating. I picked this over the new ZS200 for a bit more aperture and am glad of the choice and the savings. There are so many settings as to boggle the mind and the 406 page (not kidding) pdf manual could stand some improvement, but the camera is solid, the results are good and it's extremely portable. I suspect it will be durable and will see a lot of use.

Pretty Good, one issue
I am a Canon guy. So, this camera has taken some time to get up to speed on use. I like the quality of the pictures and the camera capabilities. The one area where you might get hosed is on the raw images. I always shoot raw. But, this camera's raw images are not really like Canon raw images. And, that causes a stack of problems in post. Perhaps it's a lack of an industry standard. But, using various different Mac software, the raw images in this camera are a bit of a pain.

Excellent portable to add to your collection
Loaded with features that you'd expect on a much more expensive camera, this small form factor camera can be tweaked by you to capture pictures you'd expect to see only in larger and more expensive equipment. I forget it's capability until I import my shots into Lightroom for cleanup and review - and many of the pictures just come alive because of the larger CMOS. You can pay more for a camera in this category - but it's hard to imagine that you'd get more.

Panasonic ZS100 Travel-Zoom Camera with 1-inch Sensor
The ZS-100 is at most just slightly better than the ZS-50 (which costs much less) which has a 4x smaller sensor but a 3x longer maximum zoom. The Canon G3x has the same sensor but is far better in JPEG image quality. I'd like to like this camera better, since I paid full MSRP for it (and I intend to keep it), but I think Panasonic let the quality slip on this one. The lens is branded Leica, but isn't near as good as the lens on the Panasonic LX-100.

Too complicated
I am a moderately advanced amateur photographer with experience with digital SLRs and point-and-shoots. I found this camera hard to use and not very intuitive. It seems I often got stuck in operations and needed to refer to the manual much more often than usual. And then after 6 weeks, the electronics failed somehow. Auto-focus stopped working and the view screen showed bright blue outlines on foliage and areas of high contrast. I am returning it.

Great so far....
Did some macro out hiking and the photos were fantastic. Touch screen focus point worked like a charm. Took to a graduation in an indoor arena and the high ISO shots were good thru ISO 3200. Auto white balance did a great job the different lighting conditions. Will take a while to learn all the features but so far this camera is terrific. Only con is that at 250mm the lens is slightly soft, but you can't have everything in a travel camera.

Excellent Travel Camera
I'm a Nikon DSLR owner and bought the zs100 for travel. Using it around home I really like the camera. Some reviewers complain that it doesn't have a front grip but I have no problem holding the camera. The 1 inch size sensor yields amazing prints that I print at 8x10 size. If you want a ton of features, 4K video, high quality images in a compact camera the zs100 is it. You can't beat the price and the lens is faster that the newer zs200.

Disappointed - received used product
Purchased this brand new, however received a product that was clear it had been used. Customer service responded promptly to complaint and were happy to exchange or refund, however that would mean losing out on shipping expenses. In the end I did get a minimal reduction on price, which should have been more than I received. Product good. Connecting via wifi to transport images quite inconvenient as need to enter password each time.

Great travel camera. Great price!
This camera has a LOT on it. In fact there is so much that I bought a book specifically written for this camera. Good detail in most photos. I have to work on getting detail of birds flying using the zoom. Im giving it 4 stars because everything is not intuitive. Perhaps it is because my last two cameras were Canons and I was familiar with them. Turning it on and off requires the use of fingernails because of the small space.

Point and Shoot Lumix
This camera lives up to its reviews. Picture quality is fantastic for a point and shoot... but it will not beat a good DSLR. The one thing I found that was a surprise is it's video capability. It produces great videos in all levels of light. Easy to use. I am sure there are options I have not explored because of my use of the DSLR... but I have found I use it... my wife whose is ot a camera user has taken some awesome photos.

Feature packed small camera
I bought this to be my weekday camera while using my Canon 90D as my weekend camera. The ZS100 seems to have even more features that the Canon 90D! Make sure you download the complete 400 page user manual for the ZS100 and study it. The printed manual included with the camera is only 68 pages long. As another reviewer mentioned, you need to be aware of the buttons on the back of the camera and the many, many menu selections.

Promising but flawed
The ZS100 has many features that place it in a class by itself. It fills a niche that the competition has not yet addressed. The exposures have been spot on with the 1 inch sensor and the times ten telephoto is an asset. It is small enough to fit in a vest pocket, which is the reason I chose it. My only negative is that the photos are slightly on the soft side. They lack the sharpness of my FZ10 and FZ60.

Perfect Travel Camera
I needed a small travel camera, and wanted at least a 1 sensor and long zoom. The ZS100 has both, and I was surprised at the excellent image quality in both still pics and videos. To learn all of its features takes some reading, but one can simply put it on Intelligent Auto and take great pics without any learning curve. I like this camera! Attached photo taken with ZS100, in low natural light, no flash.

Great P&S!
Very solid camera. LCD sceen is sharp. I really like having eye level viewfinder. 200mm is just right for a small camera. There are smaller cameras that fit easier in your pocket, but I like having the 200mm zoom. The one inch sensor makes for sharper images. I probably will carry it lots of places that I don't want to take my larger DSLR. The price was excellent and also included an extended warranty.

Power in a small package
I bought this camera to meet the rules of Russia travel. (Small, non professional, not full frame, limited to 250 mm lens) I have read the manual and taken some images. The lens and camera are well paired and the quality is remarkable. It is one of the few cameras in its class that will shoot raw. It is a good but not as good as my D850. Thanks for BH advisor who steered me in its direction.

Panasonic ZS100
Delighted with the purchase. I did a lot of research on the cameras. Everything has it's trade-offs. It came down to the Sony RX100 or the Panasonic ZS100. The deciding factor for me was the extra zoom of the Panasonic camera. We took the camera on a trip to Colorado and it was perfect. The extra zoom was a great asset. The picture quality was excellent. I would highly recommend this camera.
