Great Camera!
I use the GH4 mostly for short film and commercial work. I use the Metabones Speed booster XL and Nikon F mount Rokinon Cine lenses. The features like the Histogram and Zebras are wonderful! The picture is very sharp and paired with the speed booster, has great dynamic range. The only thing I would recommend is to not underexpose the image. The noise can get pretty bad. However, if you check your histogram and light the scene adequately it isn't a problem.

Such a Powerful Tool
The Panasonic GH4 is really an amazing camera. I had done so much research on this camera before I bought it and I am very satisfied with my purchase. I am a professional videographer and use a Canon C100 at work, but I had never had my own personal camera. I decided to go with the GH4 because of the many video features that are offered for a very affordable price. I really like the focus peaking and zebras when shooting video. I really enjoy bei... Seamless step up to 4K
Having owned a GH2 and a GH3, the GH4 represents a seamless step up to the world of 4K video. It really feels and handles the same as the GH3, but the LCD really looks a lot better to me, making it better than the earlier models for shooting quickly without having time to set up an external monitor. I also like that all the accessories from my GH3 stepped right over to the GH4 (battery grip, batteries, lenses, Panasonic external mic, etc.) Still has good battery life like its predecessors. Great camera!

Not Just A Video Camera
My wife and i bought this camera to be my primary video camera. we bought it knowing we were sacrificing on photo image quality and that it would not be our first choice for photography. I must say that we were shocked by its performance, as it delivers stunning images. The first time we held the Electric Viewfinder to our eyes we couldn't believe what we were seeing. we had never used an EVF before and were surprised to see depth of field and so... Show More

Simply Awesome Camera
I purchase this camera as I sold my C100. The C100 is better in low light however the feature set of the GH4 way surpass anything cannon offers in this price range. Full 4K, Slo-mo and with Metabones Speedbooster and Sigma 18-35 it's a beast of a camera. All that is required not is the an ND filter.

Great Camera
I use this product for it's 4K video and i got to say it is so easy. The picture is amazing and at this price point, it's a no brainer. If you want to get into digital film production and you want to be cost effective, then this is the ONLY way to go.

Outstanding camera for video
I purchased this camera primarily for video. I feel it is still one of the best cameras in this price range for 4K video despite it being on the market for over a year and a half. There is nothing with this camera that disappoints. What vlog now available, new options are here that make this camera the perfect choice for video, even at a professional level.

Great camera, can't say the same for the Interface unit
I love the GH4. The image quality, the variable frame rate, the time lapse feature, etc. However, the interface unit stinks. I had nothing but sync issues, and an echo/delay effect that I simply could not get rid of, not to mention the 15lb battery pack you need to lug around, undermines all the advantages of shooting on a small 4k-capable DSLR. I returned the combo package and got the GH4 with a Beachtek adapter which allows for XLR audio recording.

This camera has focus that is so slow that it is unusable. Sometimes it works. Other time the camera just decides to stop focusing. Overall I come from the Sony $ video camera genre of life where everything is so easy, so good and so consistent that it always looks good no matter how fast you're working or what you face. This camera is the opposite. If you're a cinematic guy who wants to noodle for hours for one shot this is a great choice. As stu... Show More

Astonishing, more than expected!
One heck of a camera, there's nothing I can really criticise other than there is some macro blocking in 4K but not enough to be noticeable unless really pushed in grading. Solid build, all the buttons and wheels are well placed, and image quality in 4k is absolutely astonishing for a camera of this price. Looking forward to seeing even more awesome footage with V-Log as it will give the camera more dynamic range. Awesome price of equipment.

Great Camera, Great Price.
Love the camera, for the price I don't have a complaint in the world. Just do yourself a favor and don't compare it to cinema cameras that are +10k, or even 5k. You get what you pay for, and although I don't forsee shooting any feature films on this one anytime soon... It's a good camera to have in your bag. I've even used it as a B cam and was fine with that. The real quality footage comes from outputting via HDMI to the Odyssey 7Q or the Atomos... Show More

stone cold reliable bang-for-the-buck
This camera pretty much embodies the promise of compact mirrorless for video work. I choose the appropriate cameras for each job, everything from F55's and Alexas to smartphones, for a small documentary package in questionable environments this is the tool but in a pinch it will do way more. Believe me, I know all about Sony and Canon, I use them and own them, but this is just a way better thought-out and reliable package than an A7s, and that's ... Show More

Not good for my films
I realize that some people love this camera and use it religiously. I however was horrible disappointed when I used if for the first two times. I film weddings, promotional videos for the web as well as local commercials. I was spoiled by the 5D mkiii and it's cinematic footage. Yes the depth of field from a L-series 1.2 50mm prime is epic... and with the GH4 and the tiny tiny tiny micro 4/3rds sensor you're not going to get anything even remotel... Show More

Very complete equipment!
Video Producer and Director of Photography. Like any video camera, you should know it first. After that you will appreciate every thing that you can do with him and what it offer to you. Focus what kind of job you are going to do, and you know if it is the right camera for you. If you use the right Light Kit Configuration, you can deal with the video noise. Interviews, documentary, shorts films are my arena and I can say i feel very well with this machine!

You trade low light/dynamic range to get 4k (not worth it)
I'm a videographer for a real estate agency and this was purchased for me to use on all of our home walk through videos and vendor partner interviews with the 18-35mm f2.8 and 7-14mm f4. It works great for the interviews but it's rather poor when used on the home walk through videos. I'm not going to talk about this as a photography camera. If you're buying it for that you're buying the wrong camera. The price point is great, but the 4k blew me aw... Show More

Just Pray You Never Need Support!
The GH4 is my first DSLR. I am an aspiring film maker and an owner of a digital marketing agency and I needed a camera that would be good to learn cinematography . I have spent about $10k in equipment in the last 6 months and I will be spending another $10k-20k in the next year and I don't make any money from commercial photography as of now. We bought 2 GH4 Cameras for Video in Classroom and Studio
We bought two of these things and they perform super. Some notes. One, unlike Nikon or Canon DSLR form factors which will shut down at about 29 minutes of shooting this is a true video camera that will shoot for about 2 hours on one Panasonic battery and one 64GB ultra high speed card (will not accept 128gb). This is with using a Zoom H5 audio capture device mounted on top with two XLR cables coming in from two RODE boom mics. While the camera wi... Show More

Reflections from a filmmaker
This is a great camera. I'm a filmmaker and have mostly used recent generations of the Panasonic professional video camcorders. I wrestled with whether or not to by a hybrid video/still camera over a dedicated video camera. But in the end, decided that like many situations in life - it depends on what you want to do. The hybrid design is a tool to consider when you primarily want to be less obtrusive, carry a smaller at-the-ready video camera, ne... Show More

Gets better every time ...
This dynamite in a small package gets better every time I switch it on ! Small form factor , 96fps, extreme battery life , oh - and the 4K is unreal. This is an investment I will never regret. A little odd to remove the battery grip when changing the body battery - but hot swap in the grip pretty much takes care of that. Sony wireless mics direct into the cam & audio is perfect. Peaking is wonderful. Live , full HD output for external monitor works great. MetaBones SpeedBooster allows me to use all my Canon glass. Please let somebody unlock the puzzle of Autofocus thru the MetaBones !!!
