Panasonic Lumix DC-GH5 Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera with 12-60mm Lens and Microphone Kit

This camera was for my wife to replace her Lumix G (first on
I have been using it to get familiar with it so I can show my wife. I have found it much better than her previous Lumix. The higher ISO gives you a lot more latitude in lower light. The focus is better and the joy stick is great to select the focus area and the ability to change the size of the focus area is also a real plus.

Incredible Camera!
If you are a manual shooter, you will not be disappointed. Don't buy this camera if you want autofocus, that's not what it's designed for. This is by far the best camera body for the money.

Nice upgrade and improved auto focus
I am a prior GH4 owner and love my new GH5. I like the dual memory card slots and the auto focus for 4k is much improved and works in the GH5. Love the internal 4K 60fps. However, the 10 bit for 4K only works at 30fps, but someday I hope they will make a model with 4K 40 bit, 60 fps camera. The crop factor for 4K is now 2.0 and a little more wider coverage than the GH4. The battery life is shorter than the GH4 but not as bad as a BMPCC. I jus wis... Show More

GH5 is all you need!
I use the Panasonic GH4 for wedding videography & I've been saving up for an upgrade for quite some time now, but the GH5 is by far the cheapest dslr for Video you can find. Having 2 SD slots is so convenient, the 120fps slow mo is so crisp and the image quality is amazing. The stabilization makes a huge difference, coming from the GH4. If you are in the market for beefy video dslr, go for the GH5, you won't regret it!

Best Camera of 2017
I love this camera, it has improved my films drastically. It's perhaps the smallest and cheapest thing record amazing 4k 60p video, stunning slow mo, especially when recording 120fps, the image is just so crip. 2 SD slots is great to have. It's a great upgrade from my previous GH4 (which I still love.) Hands down this beast is the best, affordable, good looking camera of 2017. #sweepstakes

Great camera with some serious limitations for some people
I preordered this camera based on what I now realize was marketing hype from select reviewers and panasonic employees who didn't show the autofocus but assured me (personally) it was super fast and reliable and the only reason they couldn't show us was because it was pre-production firmware. Like a big dummy, I believed that and pre-ordered and excitedly waited for the camera to arrive. Well, as it turns out the video autofocus is unusable becaus... Show More

Great Camera - Instantly made me more productive
There are many things to love about the camera but I must make note of one in particular. The built in peaking and monitor qualities have made it possible to run and gun with m annual Zeiss glass. I previously depended upon a Small HD monitor. I thought it was great but periodically failed to grab the right focus. I'm not sure of the reason but the built in features in the GH5 surpass the ability of the Small HD monitor. I was extremely impressed.

Best camera ever
Destroy's all competition, especially all Sony cameras with recording limits and overheating issues. 4K60 is flawless and able to crank the ISO up.

My favorite camera to date.
Coming from the Fuji-Xt1 after two yeas I'm blown away and some. I could only wished that I had switched to the GH4 years ago. The fact that I can shoot amazing Videos and take great stills is very versatile. I had to carry the BMPCC and the Xt1 for video/photo, NO MORE! The GH5 Does all that if not better, a must have for Photo/Video Enthusiast.

I LOVE THIS CAMERA
Still learning all the functions but this is a very capable camera in a competitive market. High bit rates combined with stunning 4k and high frame rates make this a beast to shoot with.

Improved my productivity
I'm producing cooking and exercise videos for a couple of friends to put on their web site to support a book they are writing on nutrition, exercise and cooking. I'm shooting in cine-d 4k 420 8bit 150MB. My rendered videos are 1080p. I set the GH5 up, start it with a full view of my entire scene. After that I pick up my Canon 6D to do roaming 'B' roll shots. I don't touch the GH5 until the end. In post I zoom and re-position the 4k video onto my ... Show More

Thrilled so far
As a prosumer I've definitely purchased a camera that exceeds my technical wherewithal, but I have to say I'm loving the GH5. Jumping from the GH2, I was concerned about the extra bulk, but the controls are very intuitive and the body feels great in the hand. Lovely bright screen, intuitive controls ... and the images are beyond belief. Many have complained about the wonky autofocus in video, and I noticed some odd behavior that hopefully will be resolved with a firmware update. Wasn't anything that stopped me from taking beautiful video on a recent trip.

An artist's tool, this!
Definitely a good buy. A few niggling details I don't like, but it will be great, I think, for my purpose(s). I still plan on a full frame something or other when the makers of such things make something that is better than the things that currently exist. Working with this camera sparks creativity. The details I don't like? The playback button is on the left side of the camera (like the 5dmk2) so you have to change your grip to press it. The vie... Show More

Upgraded to GH5 from GH4
I was going to hold off on upgrading from my GH4 to a GH5 because I was still really content with my GH4. After doing a little more research, I decided to make the jump. The main reasons I decided to upgrade to the GH5 was for the in-camera stabilization and the frame rate increase from 96 to 180 in 1080p. I've had the camera for 2 days now and I am very impressed. As prior reviews have mentioned, the GH5 is a tad bigger and heavier, but nothing ... Show More

Excellent
I'm loving this camera very much. The touch screen is fantastic and speeds up any operation I do. Focusing by touching the screen is one of the best features to have -none of my cameras before had anything like this. The technology is smart and at times, I feel the camera is reading my mind. Seriously, when I think I wish the camera had x or y feature, then after poking on the manual I find it. I've seen reviews online that say the camera has poor autofocus on video mode. This is true, but for me is not a problem since all the work I do is manually focused.

I've had many Panasoinc cameras, LX3, LX5, GX8, GH2, GH4 and now the GH5. With each model the cameras get better and better. I highly recommend the Panasonic line. I only order from B&H.

Wonderful Camera
This is a truly wonderful camera. Once you make some adjustments to the AF settings, it works much better; not SONY better, but better. AF is the weakest thing about this camera. The menus are average as far as ease of getting through, but once you learn where things are you can get to them much faster. LOVE the touch screen that makes inputting settings a breeze as well as touch focusing. Post focus is amazing... choose your focus point AFTER yo... Show More

Great Upgrade from a GH4
This camera is amazing. Color is much better especially skin tones. Better low light. 10 bit 4:2:2 internal is very good. Batteries don't last as long as the Gh4 with stabilizer and auto focus on. Auto focus is pretty good if you set it ti scan a small area. Even stays in focus while zooming in and out as long as it isn't really fast. Can't wait to use it on some short movies.
