very small, very light = very useful
This lens is so small and light you'll keep checking your pocket/ camera bag to make sure you have it. It does feel a little cheap, but the trade-off is well worth it. No issues with picture quality so far though to be fair, I haven't made huge enlargements yet. Overall, a great second lens to carry

Nice zoom lens
Pictures are sharp at full zoom. Definitely need a tripod when fully zoomed, as the anti shake in the camera can't fully compensate. Takes nice pictures indoors as well.

Great lens for price
This lens gives me what I wanted-good, smooth zoom, and functionality. It feels a little cheap compared to other lenses as far as materials on the outside, but that isn't a problem to me. It is not a good lens for Macro use, but you shouldn't be looking at a 40mm lens for that anyway. At the lowest aperture setting, it is a little tough to use in low light, but I still think it's a good value.

Bought to use with Panasonic Lumix
Fit without a problem. Seems to work well. The only reason I don't give a 5 is because I have not used it long enough.

Sharp Light Fast
I have used this lens for about a week and can find no fault with it. It delevers sharp clear images. It is much lighter than I anticipated and I am more than happy with it.

Featherweight
I'm starting to fill out my m4/3 lenses and this seemed as if it might be reasonably wholesome low hanging fruit. I wasn't prepared for just how light this lens is. There seems to be very little metal associated with it - the mount is clearly plastic. This is as much a merit as a demerit - I see it as a wash. Every ounce pared off the weight of the gear bag is that many more steps I can take with no net loss of comfort. Optically fine as long as ... Show More

Decent lens for a very good price
Just started using this lens, so not much experience. Not overly impressed with the image quality and of course not great in low light, but like it enough to keep it

Very good entry level telephoto
The lens produces very good images, especially in the 70-100 range. Excellent color and contrast. Closer to the longer end the lens starts losing some of its sharpness, but nothing too dramatic. Definitely recommended.

Great Bang For Buck
I was looking for an inexpensive zoom when I wanted the convenience of a zoom with decent enough IQ. Great bargain, purchased for $ during a special. I don't know if I would pay the normal $ retail price. IQ seems decent enough, it certainly won't be replacing any of my MFT primes. Lens is light weight and construction isn't heavy duty but certainly inexpensive enough to replace.

Exceptional
Exceptional image quality in a compact package. Amazing color and contrast for the price. A steal for two bills!

Great budget lens
Yes, it's plastic, but the shots you get from it will amaze you, and you can't beat the price! On the down side - no OIS and it's not sealed. What do you expect for $$?

It's great for video
I used this on a video shoot today and it works great. In fact it's my favorite lens to use for ENG type filming. It's not too wide and not to fast, but it handles very well and takes great pictures if there's plenty of light.

cheap and light, can't go wrong.
It does what it's supposed to, and it's really light. I don't really like telephotos, but I got this just to have around. Image quality is fine; it's not my main lens, so it's good enough. stick it in your camera bag and you'll forget it's there.

Handy, lightweight zoom
Hard to argue against a zoom with an effective range of 80-300mm that you can carry in a coat pocket without even realizing you have it. Add in that it is relatively inexpensive, and you have a winner. I picked this up to use with a new Olympus PEN EP-5 just before a trip to Portland, Oregon and had a terrific time with the lens. It is a bit ungainly when fully extended, but the ability to capture sharp shots at 300mm equivalent without having to... Show More

VERY SHARP LENS
I was surprised with the sharpness of this lens. I like the lens to carry around with out the weight of a larger lens of this type.

Nice zoom
This is a nice zoom, with good image. It's OK for the money, but if you could pay a little bit more, consider other options. Trying to focus sometime takes forever.

Can't be beat for the price
I shot the moon and i can see the craters at 100% magnification with my OMD. So for this price tag, it can't be beaten, this lenses is worth it. No zoom creep also.

I love this lens
Amazingly sharp photos, especially for the price. Autofocus is quick and accurate allowing me to capture great shots of my 3 year old. Very lightweight on my epl2. I really love this lens.

Great lens, fast focus
Great inexpensive lens, smooth zoom with no creep, fast focusing, sharp images, very light. 58mm thread works with all my existing filters. No lens flare or problems with purple fringing. It was highly recommended, and I bought it on sale before buying my camera.

Compact and light lens
Great lens for the money. Sure you could do better, optically and in speed, but not at this price point. I consider it a good lens if you are not sure which focal length you want so at least as a start, it gets you shooting pictures. Then when you get comfortable and decide what your preference is, you can then go prime for the results your are really after. It's also a great lens for travel considering it's light weight and compact size when stored. Again for the price, hard to beat.
