Excellent Choice If You Can Only Take One Lens
This is an excellent lens. In my tests I've found it very sharp at all focal lengths from wide open (f/4) to f/8. At f/11 a tiny bit of diffraction softening effects can be seen, but that aperture can certainly be used if necessary. I would not use it at f/16 as the image suffers from more diffraction effects than I care to see. A nice bonus is the lens' ability to focus very closely. I don't do a lot of macro or close-up imaging, but this lens s... Show More

I may never take it off my camera...
Have you ever bought something and asked yourself Why didn't I buy this first?. That's the way I feel about this Olympus lens. It is awesome in every way, quality of the build and the way it performs. I'm a little bit on the shaky side when doing handheld shots and the image stabilization is superb! It has taken what normally would be worthless shots and turned them into beautifully smooth videos. The focus is very quick and doesn't do too much b... Show More

Perfect match with the OMD E-M1 Mk. II
I have the 12-40/2.8 Pro and love it for the image quality and its build & ergonomics. I wanted to add this for the extra reach, and I'm glad I did. It's the same quality construction, the same (or better) image quality, and the image stabilization is very effective. Yeah, it's a little on the heavy side compared to other u4/3 lenses, but it's a lot more manageable than the big Canikon lenses and, to my eye, every bit as good. Great for travel; the OMD E-M1 camera, combined with this plus one fast 17mm or 25mm prime is a very compact and effective travel kit.

Good lens for that trip
I have a 12-40mm f2.8 and 40-150mm f2.8 lens for general shooting and couple of f1.2 lens for portraits.I had a family wedding in Florida and then 5 days at Disney Land with the grand kids.I didnt want to hall all that weight of 2 lenses all day.I was looking for a stronger zoom than my 12-40 and in one lens to eliminate changing and the weight of 2 lenses.I found this12-100mm f/4 lens was the lens I used 90% of the time.Does a good job shooting in low light. It has theright amount of zoom to get up close or zoom out to get the group.

Excellent Lens ...
I was using the 14-150 lens ... with very good results ... but decided to move up to a PRO lens ... mainly because it was a much faster lens. The 12-100 is much better in low light conditions ... images can be taken with a much lower ISO ... and I think that the images are a little sharper than the 14-150. Overall, I am very glad that I purchased the lens and would recommend it as the basic lens for the OM D body. Note it is a much larger and heavier lens than the 14-150 ... but still easy to carry and maneuver.

Perfect for travel
I got this lens just before traveling to Eastern Canada. It's the only lens I took and it served me perfectly. Prior to this, I had been using the 12-40 f/2.8 Pro lens, and although it is an incredible lens, the 12-100 gave me the extra range I really needed. With image stabilization in the lens and the camera, I did not mind losing one stop of light. I processed most of the images on the road on my Surface Pro, and I saw image quality that I could not distinguish from the 12-40 lens.

Awesome lens for travel and general knock around
I find this lens to be very sharp and the 12-100mm zoom range is insane. Its a little heavy because its all metal with a lot of glass, what would you expect? I find the f/4.0 aperture is satisfactory for most applications, however it would be nice if it were a f/2.8 like my 12-40 and 40-150 which this lens nearly replaces. F/4.0 comment notwithstanding, I still give it 5 starts! ....and thank you Olympus for adding in the focus stacking feature.

Outstanding carry around lens with excellent range.
Olympus made a home run again with this lens. An equivalent range of 24-200mm and a constant F/stop at 4.0 is Excellent. This lens is tack sharp wide open from edge to edge at every marked focal lengths. It does not come cheap, but it worth every penny of the selling price. Most of the time this is only lens mounted on my E-M1 MK II I carry with me on my photo walks. Highly recommended lens.

Excellent Travel Lens
Image quality is excellent, in fact I sometimes prefer using it + digital zoom over the additional optical zoom of the Oly 75-300 mm lens. A bit large for micro 4/3, but for many occasions can be the only lens you need. The only annoyance is that it seems all to easy to accidentally switch IS off (as when putting in/taking out of bag), so I've had to learn to check it whenever I pull it out.

really nice
I haven't gotten my E-M-1 MKII yet so I have used it on my E-M-1 MK I and I like what I see Haven't gotten out much because it is so darn cold but I have played with it. It is nice and sharp but was surprised at how heavy it is and big. If you like nice sharp shots then get this if you want lightweight then by pass it .But like me if you are looking for quality shots then I recommend it

Great optics and overall workhorse
I love this lens, built like a tank and super sharp. I read some reviews about it being heavy, maybe a touch but if you have carried big Canon lenses this is nothing to leave on all the time. I have the 12-40 2.8 and like this better with more range. It's not that much bigger. Great lens, expensive but you get what you pay for. B&H were awesome, quick free shipping.

Fantastic Lens
This is a great all around lens. This lens is very sharp, has built-in stabilization that complements an already top flight stabilization available with in camera stabilization in Olympus cameras, and waterproofing. The range of the focal length is ideal for everything from street photography to landscapes handheld at slow shutter speeds up to 2 seconds.

Crystal clear!
As soon as I put this lens on my BMPCC 4k I knew it was going to live there. The aperture control is very very smooth - I don't see any steps at all. The auto focus button gave me precise focus fairly quickly. I then manual focus but it helps find the spot fast. First and foremost the optics (as well as the solid build) are the real deal. Very pleased.

Great lens for travel with settings for all occasions
Although faster would have been somewhat better, this lens at f4 though out the 12- 100mm range covers virtually all the situations typically encountered. The zoom operation is smooth. The macro capability is useful. It is somewhat heavy, but allows one to leave another lens or two at home. After the first couple of weeks, it has become my go-to lens.

So far, so good.
I've only had it about a week, so not a lot of use yet. I did one day in the city, mostly modern building shots, and I like the added range (replacing an older 12-60). Fast focus and every image sharp, even interiors in low light. Fun to play with the camera's keystone comp to correct the tilt from looking up at buildings (I miss my old shift lenses!)

Great all around lens
I used this lens on my EM-1 MkII on a recent trip to the Grand Canyon, where I am fortunate to visit rather often. Previously I'd used mostly the 12-40 2.8 pro but sometimes needed more reach. Changing lenses to the 40-150 2.8 was inconvenient. I was able to shoot everything I wanted with the 12-100 on my last trip. Shots are amazing.

I would recommend this lens as a must have.
If you can only take one lens, this 12-100mm lens is the one. I've only been out with this lens three times but I am impressed with how sharp the image are and close it focuses at full telephoto. The constant f/4 throughout the zoom range and the IS synced with the body IS makes this lens usable in many different lighting conditions.

Fabulous upgrade for an amateur
A friend told me the only way my photos would get any better is to consider a new lens. It turns out he was right. What a game-changer. The stabilizing function made a huge difference in low light and I found that the camera is easier to handle when I can comfortably hold the lens. That was a nice surprise. It was worth the wait.

New Go-Everywhere Lens
This is a very well made (Dust and damp protected) len that pairs up extremely well with the new OM-D E- M1 MK II body. It has built in IS that works in conjunction with the MKII's IS to allow for many handheld shots I used to need a tripod for. It also maintains f-stops as you zoom. I'm using this as my walk around town lens.

So glad I bought this lens!
I am going to Iceland in April and wanted a good all around lens and the 24-200 range will suite me well. This lens is amazingly sharp and super fast focus on my OMD EM1. I have not upgraded to the Mark II yet, but I am very satisfied with this lens on the Mark 1. The Olympus Pro lenses are built like tanks.

My new go to lens!
I do wish it was a little faster, but to have a single lens that covers 12 x 100 mm at f/4.0. While that is by no means fast, it is WAY better than most kit lenses when you get out at the 100mm end of the range. So for everyday video other than extreme low light, this will be the one lens on my GH5s.

This lens works as advertised.Great image quality
The Olympus 12-100 f4 lens works as advertised. Very flexible and good quality images. You will love the stabilization combination of lens and body. It actually works. The menu in the Olympus OMD-1 Mark 2 stabilization settings are a little tricky to set up. It is just a great walk-around lens.

One of the best zooms I've ever owned.
Have had this lens for about two weeks. Have used it in many conditions and it has never let me down. The range is outstanding for nearly any assignment. The stabilization is truly remarkable. I'm going on vacation in a few days and I expect to use this lens for nearly all my photography needs.
