This is by far a must buy for any Micro 4/3rds shooter. Sharp as a tack and let's you get down to f/1.8.

Maravilloso lente

Jul 15, 2015

Awesome Lens. Best Value!

Jul 4, 2015

I just love and respect this lens. For the price, is in my opinion the best micro 4/3 option for this focal length. I've tested it in a portrait photoshoot at the beach (hard morning light) and it's super sharp and fast, it al delivered a beautiful bokeh. Definitely it comes to stay.

Good Portrait Lens with narrow Depth of Field

Jun 23, 2015

As with most of the micro four thirds line this lens seems very small but don't let that make you underestimate the quality results from this lens. Fast focusing, sharp images and the blurry backgrounds we all look for in portraits. Probably one of the must have prime lenses to have with an Olympus OM-D series cameras.

Excellent Focus

Jun 8, 2015

Very clear and responsive. Only thing I did not like was it was not really smooth to put on. Very tight and a bit of a scraping sound when putting it on taking it off. Other than that--great glass.

Great Lens Lousy Hood

May 28, 2015

I have found this lens to be great for taking images of flowers and people. I also like it for taking pictures with available light indoors (e.g.; in museums). With extension tubes, it works almost as well as a macro lens. I ordered the Olympus hood for the lens and was greatly disappointed. The hood was too small and wouldn't fit onto the lens. I returned it. It was made of poor quality material compared to my other Olympus lens hoods. I wish the lens had a screw on high quality hood that wasn't greatly over priced.

Very good lens... Mostly

May 26, 2015

Really sharp lens wide open and close f1.8. As you stop way down though, your image will soften. Not too bad. And there is a little vignetting at f1.8. Overall though... a really good budget lens.

So small it will fit nicely in your pocket, but it is a mighty prime, nice for portraits and candid shots. Very sharp with lovely bokeh.

High Performance, Cheap Build Quality

Apr 16, 2015

Like most of the Olympus Primes, the 45mm f1.8 has blazing fast and accurate autofocus, fantastic image quality, and produces sharp images. I bought this lens as the last piece of a three lens kit of small primes with excellent performance quality and in this respect, the 45mm f1.8 does not disappoint. But, unlike my other two primes, the Olympus 12mm f/2.0 and Olympus 17mm f/1.8, the build quality of the 45mm f/1.8 is a major disappointment. It ... Show More

As good as the M.Zuiko 25mm F1.8 lens

Apr 15, 2015

This lens is as good as the 25mm f/1.8 version, which is excellent. Metal lens mount is high quality. Focus ring is smooth an consistent. It produces very sharp images. Focusing is fast with the E-M10 and lengthly exposures with a decent tripod are fantastic. Portraits are equally great. The lens can be used wide open at f1.8 and focus as close as 1.64 ft for decent macro shots. The lens really is as good as you and the camera are. Highly recomme... Show More

Great image quality and Super Small!

Mar 16, 2015

This lens is extremely small and light. Don't be fooled, because it can produce excellent images. Great image quality. Fast large aperture at f/1.8. The lens hood should have been included. Shame on any manufacturer for not including hoods.

Nice Portrait Lens

Mar 4, 2015

Although not a macro lens, its focal length makes it good for flora shots with its nice bokeh. It's sharp wide open as per the on-line review site tests and has no detectable optical faults. Flare is well controlled too. For micro 4/3rds format, of course the f/1.8 behaves more like f/4 at 90mm for full frame equivalent, but that's probably about the best you're going to get and it isolates the subject nicely. Bokeh is well behaved with stopping down.

Nice Lens at a reasonable cost

Jan 18, 2015

I bought this lens for my LUMIX GH3. It is a very compact lens, that of course is one of the pluses of the micro 4/3 system. This particular lens was highly recommended at CameraLabs.com so I decided to take a chance on it. The lens mount 'fit' is slightly tighter than the Panasonic lenses I have. That surprised me, since both of these reliable companies have subscribed to the micro 4/3 specifications. I'm not suggesting that this 'fit' on the le... Show More

Great Lens!

Jan 12, 2015

After switching to the Olympus OM-D from my Canon pro system, I've been looking for lenses of comparable quality to the Canon L series lenses. This one isn't quite at that level, but it's darned good based on the few shots I've already taken.

Beautiful.

Dec 17, 2014

I love this glass. It is the first M43 lens I have purchased outside the kit 14-42 which came with my E-PL5, and I literally have not taken it off since I put it on, about two months ago; and my Olympus goes with me everywhere, all the time. It is obviously not the most versatile piece of glass ever designed, being a portrait length lens, and not having a super close minimum focus distance, but the moment I put it on, and framed the same subject ... One of the best portrait lenses I've ever used. Not quite so smooth as the pre-asph 90 Summicron but it's in that league and a lot less painful to buy.
