Pro feel, pro results... need to have the eye to compose : )
I have been lucky enough to have all 3 Olympus Pro zoom lenses and most of the Primes. Each have their place, but for flexibility when you not quite sure what you will have to work with these zooms always deliver in terms of results and flexibility. I'm starting to venture into Real estate work and this is the go to lens in my opinion. I shoot RAW and Jpeg/SuperFine and while the RAWs are used for back up my Jpegs are more than enough for client ... Show More

Wonderful UWA Lens
Small, lite, sharp, contrasty. I now understand why it's such a popular UWA with Oly shooters. My only complaint is that I wish it wasn't so susceptible to flare, but with the bulbous front element, there's really no way around it. Just watch your angle to any bright lights or the sun, and you should be fine.

Nice Wide-Angle
Really like the lens..used it for 4th of July fireworks. But I am still trying to figure out the new Olympus camera... but a really great lens!

The wide of it all.
Not since my Zuiko 18/3.5 of my film cameras have I enjoyed wide angle so much. A little heavy, and I would have preferred a fast 9mm fixed more, but this will do. A little tricky to avoid flare, but that is expected in a lens when it so wide. Ill make up another shade for it when not using as wide as it can go.

Awesome lens!
Ive had the 12-40mm Pro for several years now, and thought the 12mm was wide....what did I know. The 7-14 is incredible, allowing shots just not possible with longer focal lengths. The lens is sharp, well made, and a joy to use. B&H delivered it within a day of my placing the order! All around good.

Good But Requires Some Practice
I am just starting to use this lens on the OM-D E-M1 II and realize that it is a bit more challenging than my previous Canon 17-40 f4.0. The build quality is excellent. I realize that I will have to be more cognizant of the suns position to avoid flares across the bulbous lens. With high bright sun here in Hawaii that will require practice and probably carrying a small collapsable diffuser for mid-day shoots. Otherwise, the sharpness and image qu... Show More

Use this for Video on GH5
I bought this lense for my Gh5 because my Panasonic 12-35 wasnt wide enough for real estate Interiors. This lense works really well at all focal lengths and is incredibly sharp unlike the 12-35 I have. This lense is built like a tank and has a really cool build quality. I will say, that at 7mm it struggles if the camera stabilization on the Gh5 is on. Besides that, this is a must have if you have a Gh5!

Great lens but a bit heavy
Compared to the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 9-18mm f/4-5.6 Lens which I had before I bought this lens, the PRO lens is a lot larger and heavier. But I like the internal zoom which gives a lot better protection against moist and dust. The quality of this lens is superb over the whole zoom range. No distortion on the 7mm side provided you keep the camera level in horizontal and vertical direction. Great lens. Also the wide F/2.8 opening is an advant... Show More

Rugged and Versatile
Great travel lens if you like ultra-wide zooms. I rented and used all 3 mFT ultra-wide zooms before purchasing this lens. The mZD was easily my favorite to use. Pro's: -Manual focus clutch snaps to a previously established focus point (e.g. hyperfocal point). -Built-in, non-removable lens hood is very sturdy, protecting the bulbous front element. - Rugged build quality and premium feel - Very close focus distance (fun for silly kid portraits, fl... Crazy sharp lens
Let me begin by saying that I have been working as a professional photographer for the last 34 years. Also, I am very much a lens snob. I have about 15 Canon lenses and all but 1 are "L" lenses. I have tried many other brands of lenses but haven't found any others that measure up to the L's. I just bought the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II and 3 of the PRO lenses, the 7-14/2.8, 12-40/2.8 and the 40-150/2.8. I LOVE these lenses. Just as much as my Can... Show More

Rounds out my M43 lens collection
I now have the Olympus M.Zuiko 7-14, 12-40, and 40-150 f2.8 lenses with the 1.4 Teleconverter, the 25 mm f1.8, and the 60mm Macro, as well as the 75-300mm . I use these lenses on the EM-1 MkII camera body, and couldn't be more pleased. This 7-14 mm lens adds a completely different perspective to my landscape shots. The Oly Pro lenses are exceptionally well built. I heartily recommend the Olympus M43 format as a superior alternative tp traditional DSLRs.

Expensive but worth it
I went into the B&H Store in person to buy this lens. I looked at both the Olympus and the Panasonic f4 lens. Mounted both on my camera and took test photos with them. The Panasonic is also quite a good lens (plus smaller, lighter and cheaper) but suffers from purple fringing when used on Olympus cameras. This lens, while quite expensive, is simply dreamy. If you are a wide angle shooter, it is well worth having in your kit.

I Wanted To Like This Lens
I really wanted to like this lens. It's a PRO lens, great build quality and fast, constant f2.8. I shoot real estate and kept getting lens flare. The only work around was to shield the ambient light with my hand. I also tried using a grey card as a shield. That not only slowed me down, but the results were inconsistent. I kept getting unwanted flare. I am using the 9-18 f4-5.6. The extra 2mm at the wide end would be helpful when shooting small ro... Show More

Solid lens, great images, F2.8 great for interiors
This is a really solid lens. Great image quality. Zoom is really solid and useful, and it has the manual focus lock that works like should. Constant F2.8 is really good, and very good for interiors. I use this for architecture / real estate shoots. The wide angle is captures even the smallest rooms. Perfect for GH4 or GH5.

A solid, fun lens.
I like the solid feel of this lens on my E-M5. It takes very sharp images. I am having fun using the ultra wide for a different viewpoint and perspective from my other lenses. This lens is a joy to use.

Fun to use for a different perspective
Although this lens is a little heavier than my other lenses it feels good on my E-M5. It is a joy to use and I am having fun framing photos through this wider perspective.

Extreme wide angle that works on my Panasonic GX-8 just fine. Almost a fisheye. Fast, good for astro photography at f/2.8.

Great lens
Even more important than the camera is the glass attached to it. Crisp clear images throughout to range of the zoom. Used it for sunrise shots and love what the lens allowed me to get.

Beautiful, but requires some soul-searching
This is an amazing lens. My experience is in-tune with the reviews written here and elsewhere, it is absolutely beautiful. I purchased right before a trip where I would be in numerous cathedrals and wanted to be able to capture a very wide (or tall, in portrait) field of view, in low light. This lens amazed on all accounts. However, a little soul-searching may be needed. This lens weighs nearly as much as the E-M1, and even more than my E-M5 body... Show More

Great!
Because I'm considering buying this lens, I wanted to try it out on a trip to Niagara Falls to take advantage of the wide angle opportunities. Now it's on my wish list! It worked flawlessly before AND after the wind and water at Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist (mist being the understatement of the century!). The images from this lens are outstanding. Superb lens
This lens has a great feel and produces terrific edge-to-edge quality with hardly any perceptible drop-off at different apertures. It's heavy and like many extreme wide lenses, not amenable to using common screw-in filter systems. However, those are minor considerations. This is a good investment.

This is a great lens. Almost perfect. Slight softness in the corners but extremely sharp at the center. Focuses very very fast. JKA

Not perfect, but pretty great
I love this lens, however, I do have some issues with it. Mainly, I am unhappy with the bulbous front element for two reasons. First, it makes putting any sort of filter on this lens next to impossible. Second, the lens tends to cause flares more often than other ultrawide lenses I've used in in the past in other systems and I'm convinced that it is due to the bulbous front element. Aside from that, the lens performs well, and it's solidly built. That said, it is pretty pricey for a micro 4/3 lens.
