solves my problem
I have been a mouse person forever and never adapted to laptop pads. One problem was when traveling I didn't have a proper sized surface to use my mouse. I got this trackball to solve this problem. With it, I use my thumb on the trackball instead of moving a mouse, so it works no matter what type of surface is available. It stays in one place. I won't lie, it did take a while to get used to it. But once I did it was as quick & easy as my mouse. F... Show More

Love it love it love!
My spouse has been using the older corded version of this trackball for years to manage a repetitive motion shoulder injury resulting from years in the computer industry. It has done the job well, and she was very happy with it. That model is (apparently) no longer made, so when the old trackball she used with her laptop finally failed after many years of use, I bought the wireless version for her. She liked it immediately, but it took her a coup... Show More

Great, cheap reliable trackball
I am systems administrator who spends most of his time working in Linux and Unix terminals. The pros of this mouse is that it includes a middle-click button that is also a scroll wheel. Also, it fits my hands well, which I would say are medium sized. The cons of this mouse is that pressing the scroll wheel as a button requires a bit of pressure (although I think it loosens up a bit with time). Also, after a little over three years the buttons started double-clicking automatically. So I'm a little disappointed that the mouse only lasted 3 years, but at this price I think it's bareable.

Still my favorite mouse/trackball.
I've been using a Logitech trackball for more years than I can remember. I purchased my first one to minimize stress on my arm and shoulder. I then became aware of the convenience of not having to constantly re-position a mouse on a pad. This updated model, M570, is just as pleasing as past models. I also like the two extra buttons that allow me to program them for next and previous. My only disappointment was that the Unifying Receiver is not compatible with the HP keyboard that came with my new PC, so I have to use two separate USB slots for both devices.

First time trackball user
I've used a variety of mice but never a trackball. I keep my Microsoft Touch nearby for when I need to manage multiple windows but for general tasks I find this device perfect. It takes up little space because the device doesn't move the cursor, the ball does. I also find that it's the best device for ergonomic stability: I have much less pain after hours of working. I'm looking forward to trying it with my laptop displayed on the TV while sitting in my lounger. And I love the battery life. My Microsoft Touch burns through 2 AAs in about 1.5 weeks.

Never liked cordless UNTIL this one
I've used only trackballs since October of 2001, first a Microsoft make, then the last few years the Logitech trackman wheel(corded). I was deeply disappointed when both were discontinued. I have large hands and can't use the small mice without pain. This new mouse by Logitech far exceeds the performance I experienced with my prior trackballs. The forward and back buttons speed up my web browsing immensely, and being able to custom program buttons is very important to me. It took only a few minutes to adjust the cursor sensitivity to my liking.

The greatest advantage of thumb-ball over mouse is comfort, achieved by ease of moving the cursor. In the case of thumb-balls, only the thumb needs to be moved and the other fingers remain stationery. The smoothness of the ball ensures that your thumb will not be overly exerted. In the case of a mouse however, the fingers need to grasp and move the mouse and the wrist needs to rotate it, causing prolonged stress of all parts of the hand.If you have not used a thumb-ball before, you should try it, you will be amazedM570 is very good products.

Solid Feeling Trackball
I have always preferred the trackball. This Logitech is a well made and reliable unit. The wireless works well. Battery life seems strong as I have not needed to replace the included battery and the life estimate in the software shows it will last many months yet. It was easy to install and set up. Ergonomically, it is smaller than older models that I have owned and this is moderately uncomfortable as I have very large hands being 6'4 tall. Overall, I am very happy with the quality, function, and value, especially as offered through B&H.

Best thumb wheel to date
Have used a thumb wheel mouse for 10 years now, gives me greater control, easier use when traveling (airport, flying) when a desk is unavailable - with a side benefit is no one asks to use my computer ha ha -- this is the 5th rendition of the thumbwheel mouse I've used and this is model is the best - cut the wires, never a range or interference problem, battery life is outstanding - the whole family converted to this model - B&H had the best prices anywhere, shipping was very prompt, packed well - this is a purchase you won't regret

Ruined a pretty good product
This is the replacement for the cordless optical trackball. They reduced the total number of buttons and for some odd reason, changed the ball position from the top, controlled by index/middle fingers, to the thumb. Who knows why but it takes getting used to and still doesn't work as well.they also reduced the number of programmable buttons.the only improvement is the receiver is better and smaller.bottom line - what the heck were they thinking? obviously, this was not redesigned by anyone at logitech who actually uses it.

GREAT
I bought for my Autistic grandson.....at 5 years old he had his own desktop PC and uses it for hours....He could not work a mouse.....he took over my notebook with a wired Logitech trackball at 4 years old and we had to get him his own computer. He loves to surf videos of techie stuff centered on fans....turbines....windmills. He was non-verbal at 4 and at 6 years old now he is becoming a real talker....thank to his computer his language skill have skyrocketed with his ability to use his PC because of the trackball.

Good trackball, works well
After many years of use and abuse, I finally retired my poor Microsoft Optical Trackball and switched over to this. I have big hands and it feels a bit small, but the size and the wireless make it more convenient for desk space. The ball feels good and it seems to track well; I feel like a couple of times it has gotten wireless interference and made inconsistant movements, but it usually isn't a problem. This is definitely my favorite style/orientation for a trackball and the price for this one is worth it.

Too fabulous!
I have used Logitech rollerballs for 12 years and I couldn't be more happy with my new wireless mouse - I didn't realize the wireless had improved so much. It was so easy to setup, I just plugged the little receiver into my USB port on my desktop and presto, I was done. This will work on laptop or desktop. I'm giving these as holiday gifts to friends. I also have to say I have purchased from B & H before and am always pleased with the timeliness in which I receive my order. They are the quickest!

good mouse
I used the mouse to work mostly on autocad, photoshop and sketchup, I find this mouse way more comfortable that others. The battery life is amazing and the trackball and fix position of the mouse help me to work faster. The only down side is that the pointer on the screen sometimes move by itself all and disapear on the corner of the screen. I wont give a five start to this mouse because I that issue gets very umcomfortable and unacceptable when you purchase a good, expensive quality mouse.

I think I got a defective one..
Ive had an M570 trackball for the last year and Ive been very happy with it. The left button stopped working reliably, so I purchased this as a replacement. Unfortunately the ball is pretty loose, to the point that its distracting trying to move the ball because the mouse cursor will jump when I lift my thumb in the action of scrolling the ball. I contacted Logitech support to see about getting a replacement, and they were very unwilling to do anything about it. Very disappointing.

Excelent mouse for people with CTS
This is a great mouse for people with the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), since you don't move your hand but your thumb to move the cursor over the screen. It has 2 dedicated buttons to move back and forth in your web browser. It's very accurate since is a laser mouse. And you can use it on any surface, even on your leg. The only bad thing about this mouse is that it takes a little while to get used to it. But once you do, you won't be using a regular mouse again.

Works well provided certain conditions are met.
I have used a Logitech wired trackball for years, but with the addition of a puppy to our house, I'm trying to do away with as many cords as possible. This model works just as well as the wired model provided you plug the unifying receiver plugged into a USB port on the computer and not into a hub. Also, I have found that there is a significant amount of metal between the trackball and the receiver (eg. a trackpad), it loses signal and I have to reposition it.

Beats anything I have ever used!!
I had been used to a touchpad on a laptop. Liked that better than a mouse because the mouse always moves around on the desk. Happened to come across some reviews on Logitech's wireless trackball and thought it looked interesting. Absolutely love it. It never moves, you just lay your hand over it. Thumb does most of the work and it is so easy to click right or left. I don't play games on the computer, just everyday mail, bookkeeping, searching on Internet.

Keep Going back to Trackball
I love these trackball mice. I have a corded one at work and bought one for my laptop at home. I dont like the trackpad included in most laptops. I work heavily on excel and find these trackballs easy and efficient and most importantly, they are easy on my wrist. These put less stress on my wrist than traditional mice and there is no need for a mouse pad - which can add clutter to an already busy desk. Easy to clean, just pop the track ball out. LOVE IT.

Have one; bought it for someone else
This is a great mouse to remove tension in the forearm and shoulder for people working on a computer a lot. My brother recommended it to me a few years ago and after trying it for work, I bought a second one for home. Major relief in my forearm and shoulder. Now, I just bought one for someone at work with carpal tunner syndrome. She is an older lady and it may take her a day or two to get used to thumbing the ball instead of moving the mouse. Great buy.

Love them
I love these track balls. I was really impressed when Logitech first came out with these truly wireless models. I'm spoiled on trackballs and won't ever go back to running a mouse all over some surface. The only drawback, is that I have found that I have to replace them on average of about once a year, due to the left click wearing out. Taking the mouse apart and cleaning it helps, but the cleaning has only a limited ability to extend the mouse life.

LOVE,LOVE,LOVE IT!!!
This is my first experience using a trackball mouse & I must say I may never go back to using a regular cordless mouse again. Surprisingly I had no trouble at all adapting to it & the learning curve, for me anyway, was almost non-existent as the buttons are positioned exactly as they are on my Logitech Laser mouse. Easy to use, easy to connect, quality product and lightning fast shipping as always from B&H. Nothing bad to say. Excellent!!!

Fantastic product
I've used a Logitech corded trackball for year and was very excited to move up to the wireless version. I love the fact that it can be used on any surface and can even be used from across the room. It's wonderful for my laptop, much easier to use, especially for games that the touchpad. The forward and back buttons are a nice touch too. I'm very happy with this product and would happily recomend it to others.

so good i want another!
I had a trackball years ago & LOVED it. I've been looking for another good 1 4 sometime now & when I ran into this 1 i figured I'd give it a shot. It's better then my old 1 & I love it even more. When I 1st stared using it again it took sometime to get used to it again but not long but if you've got little to no experience with them there is a pretty steep learning curve but well worth it in my opinion.
