Not a good buy

Jul 5, 2010

The only time I had good feed was when the mic was very close by, and even then I had too much noise or dead spots to even make the audio usable.

Good system for a low price

Jul 1, 2010

System is well worth its small price tag. Works well for me until its roughly 30-40 meters away, then it starts to pick up a little noise. Switchable channels are also a must if you plan on shooting in some sort of urban environment where interference is a possibility.

Great for small room, bad for large room

Jun 28, 2010

I bought this about 4 months ago, I got to use it for a interview in my house. It worked fine, however when I went to edit the audio the sound had alot of noise in it. I had to run it through a filter process to remove it (took extra time). I just used it for a Stage production (mic mounted at front stage on stand) and everytime someone moved cloes to it a hissing and pop, then it would go away. Distance was approx 60 feet with about 200 persons ... Show More

Used this on a simple video I shot this weekend and the clarity and reception were great. I did not try the other frequency but I imagine it sounds just as great.

Works great

Jun 8, 2010

I have only had the opportunity to use this twice since it arrived recently. The big test (and the reason we purchased it) was to videotape a school graduation, where we were asked to set up the camera in the back of the auditorium. We attached a shotgun mic to a stand in front of the stage, and everything worked beautifully. Transmitter & receiver were about 70 feet apart. Setup is easy and fast, and I had no problems. We have not had the opport... Show More

Will Work - But am sending back

Jun 1, 2010

I use it for recording church sermons with camcorder. It worked OK but had dropouts/interference as the speaker walked around. I hoped a VHF unit would work because of the cost savings. Wishful thinking. Sent it back for a UHF Unit. May work for some people OK just depends where your at and surrounding radio interference.

Constant Feedback - Poor Sound Quality

May 26, 2010

I am not an audio professional though I am tech savvy. I needed a mic to do some simple videos for the internet in a sound proof room in my basement. The mic is about 10 feet away from the receiver. Out of the box I got a ton of feedback through the mic. It sounded horrible and ruined the videos I shot to where I had to reshoot all of them using just the camera's mic.I'm connecting it directly to the camera. I've used both A and B channels. I sti... A great product for the pirce

May 2, 2010

I use this product for commercial and studio recording. Most of the work is done inside not outside. It fits on my video recorder perfectly and have not given me any problems since I purchased it. Its light weight and gives me just the range I need shooting on location and in the studio. I just purchased another one today. Again great product that i would recommend to anyone.

Easy to use. Great value.

Apr 30, 2010

Because my clients won't pay for a videographer for the market research work I do, I've had to become my own. After 10 hours of use, I judge the Pro88W to be quite adequate for my needs. The omni mic eliminated distant ambient sound (aircraft overheard, leaf blower in the yard) but not the din of a busy restaurant. Audio quality was excellent in my finished video.

Used for a lengthy conference capturing audio from multiple speakers. Easy to use, comfortable for speakers, and a great value for the price.

It is nice. But not for long term use.

Apr 21, 2010

I will star with the frequency problems: Yes you can change between two channels. But if you have noise in both channels, you're screwed. It uses poor quality connections. Use it for a year, and it will stop working. Not for professional use.

Good begining unit

Apr 14, 2010

I am an action sport cinematographer and I bought this unit to use on our latest documentary about motocross. The unit has seemed to hold up to the conditions of a motocross track and the traveling to and from locations. It is an amateur unit, but for the price it can't be beat. There is a little noise, but depending on your surroundings, it still sounds good. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for an inexpensive unit with decent sound.

Garbage

Mar 27, 2010

These things are total garbage. If there is more than 10 feet between the transmitter and receiver, all you get is static. Hardly the 100-300' range in the specs.

It's okay

Mar 17, 2010

I use the mic to do short range filming. The only problem is that when the talent has it on his back and the reciever is not in line of sight it makes a static noise. Usually its good, but sometimes it gets static, and I have to reshoot. Not that fun.

MISLEADING its PLASTIC!

Feb 23, 2010

I have not tested this unit but am commenting on its build quality. The description is CLEARLY misleading and warrants it being returned. Although clearly marked as having a metal construction, which is the reason I purchased in the 1st place, this unit is plastic and I was very disappointed and angry for this to be so.

Ideal for small productions

I use this mic to shoot informal interviews, etc. It has never given me a problem, and I would definitely buy this again.

not to bad

Feb 8, 2010

I use two of these as field lav mics with a NTG-3 shotgun. not a great range on them, usually gets static about 20 yrds away, particularly if there are RF sources around, these don't handle that too well. But in general I get good sound from them, clear voices on interior and exterior interviews or dialogue, as long as i can keep the subjects from banging them around. well worth the price. i use them for both documentary work and narrative work as well as commercial productions.

Great first wireless setup.

Feb 8, 2010

I use this system with my Sony SR-11. The item is simple to use and picks up decent sound. Although the construction of the units seem a little flimsy, the transmitter was dropped by one of my subjects and suffered no damage. It would be nice if the transmitter was a bit smaller, but for the price you can't go wrong.

More Than Expected

Jan 21, 2010

I needed a wireless mic system in a hurry. My old reliable had finally seen its day. Ordered the audio-technica, in a pinch, and it was really plug and play! What really suprised me is the quality of audio reception - clear and very good to excellent for my use. Actually, better than my previous system. I video mostly on construction sites, customer testimonials with alot of background noise. I am very pleased with the results I got yesterday on two locatins. Out in the field and in the client's office.

Simple - Works Great

Jan 19, 2010

I ordered the system to video tape a guest speaker. The system was very easy to set up the first time and worked great. The sound quality was better than I expected--near perfect--and I had no interference from another wireless mic system, lighting or other potential sources in the room. A great buy, IMHO.

Cheap Audio Solution for camcorders

Dec 31, 2009

Using this to shoot a low-budget documentary. Range is not quite what they say - starts to get clicks about 50-75 ft. away, but anything nearer is pretty clear. My sony hand-held mic works on it fine as well, for interview situations. Definitely seems worth the money invested, and BH has a very good price on this system.

I really enjoy this lightweight and compact wireless - I'm a one-person-band and carry/set up everything. Fits nicely into my grip/fanny pack, although I wish it came with a case. Sound quality good for interviews. Nice having the shoe to fit directly onto my camera. Great price.
