Fast, but compatibility issues with CD's
I burn a variety of media, CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, fairly often. This drive would not read or burn CD's from several different manufacturers, though it was fine with DVD and BR discs. Asus tech support was not helpful, even though it was clearly demonstrated there was an issue with CD compatibility. I returned the unit to B&H (great service!), and purchased a Pioneer unit instead.

So far so good
I've only been using these drives for about 2 weeks now. I loaded 3 of them in an old sd duplicator enclosure. I've run about 200 copies without issue. While the drives themselves seem fine, the trays are super thin/weak. I'm worried that if I accidentally hit then.....snap.

I trust ASUS products and would buy it again
I trust ASUS products for their reliability and good pricing. I also trust B&H, I have been purchasing from them since the early 1980's. I have even been to their extremely large facility in NYC. I can rely on B&H for good stock availability, fast shipping and good prices.

Works perfectly
No problems. Burned about 12 BluRays with Sony Architect Pro 6.0. They played in my Samsung BluRay player just fine. Looks great. I have never made BluRays before. I burned a movie created with Corel VideoStudio Pro 9.

First Internal Disc Drive
This internal hard drive works great. I plugged it in and windows recognized it right away. Afterwards I used the software that came with it just because.

I wanted to get a BR recorder for all the photos and family movies, this is an ideal drive for that use.
