powerful but expensive not to include monitor
product is pretty powerful, but it should include a monitor for such expensive apple product.

small powerhouse
upgrade it with Intel 6Core i7 & 16GB of DDR4, i run MacOS natively with 8gb and Windows10 & Linux on virtual box.. both with 4gb of ram and each occupies 1 core !! i plan on buying an eGPU also ;-)

Great Mac for price/performance

Great everyday computer
Very easy to setup, coming from the Windows world but want a more refined system. My work computer is a PC. The Mac version of MS365 works exactly the same. I am hoping this will last several years. Perfect with a 28 inch 4K screen. i7 chip runs very fast. I only ordered the 8gb version, seems fine with regular computing.

I liked this little machine TILL
had this machine for about 39 days , was in the middle of video converting there was a sound like it popped and it went off , Couldnt get it back on . Called Apple , since its a desktop no mail in service for repair shop is along way from me when you live in KS. Afraid to get another one since this happened . It gets HOT at times the fan was load also at times .

The fastest Mac mini machine I ever had. Going to upgrade the RAM to 32GB like many others here. Very fast. Needed a number of adapters for my old peripherals but acceptable. Very nice experience with B&H. Fast shipping and durable packaging.

Great Mac
A great improvement over the dated Mac Pro I had been using for way too many years. Fast, quiet, small form factor, and it does all I need a computer to do. The only limiting factor is the number of ports for connecting printers, scanners, and other devices. A small aggravation, and easily remedied with adaptors and junction boxes to accommodate additional ports, to an otherwise stellar Mac. I appreciate the built in software for word processing and other functions.

Super happy
Ive set this machine up to be a secondary machine plus media server. Its been flawless. I wish I could use it as my main machine given that the one I have to use all day for work is a 2015 MBP. The Mini is so much faster.

Great upgrade.
Dont buy this if your looking for a desktop that has a GPU. However if you need a small form factor pc that can crunch tasks on a really good CPU than this is your machine. The disk speed and CPU performance are great for the price point/form factor and design. USBC/TB3 are welcome additions. Only took apple 10 years to update this.

Fast, good connectivity, but mediocre value.
I bought the basic speed unit with minimal RAM and a large SSD (1TB), which was outrageously priced. The large SSD was necessary since apple in their normal mercenary manner did not allow the SSD to be upgraded, being soldered on the motherboard. I added extra RAM myself. Apples prices for the SSD are about 4 times what it would cost on the open market, which is pretty outrageous and has resulted in me purchasing MACs very infrequently. You ca... Show More

Better then expected!
I was worried at first about it only having two USB 3 ports but a simple Thunderbolt 3 to USB adapter gave me more ports than my old Mini. Migration Assistant in the Mac OS made migrating to the new computer a breeze!

So far, the Mac mini (2018) is everything I expected. Its incredibly fast and worked flawlessly with my eGPU (RX480, 8GB). My primary use case is Affinity Photo and routine tasks (email, web browsing, etc.).

Great Little Machine
This is my third Mac Mini. The previous one was now four years old. Nothing wrong with it. Sold it for $250, so my cost was about $100 a year. I was getting impatient for Apple to come up with a new model and this is what I expected. Plug in your external drives, DVD player, keyboard, mouse, monitor and everything just works!

Great little computer

Worth the wait
I just upgraded from my 2012 Mac Mini to the 2018, 3.0 GHz, i5, 16 GB, 256 GB SSD. Just ran a speed test with an iMovie file, 1.5 minutes long, rendered 1080p, best quality. The new Mini rendered the file in 42 seconds, compared to 1 minute 38 seconds on the old Mini. Setup was a breeze, old files transferred with migration assistant without any issues. I use the Mini primarily for photo and video editing and it is so far exceeding my expectations. Of course, the service from B&H was exceptional, as always. Customer service is outstanding.

Fast SSD and ports galore
Ive been really impressed with the mini. It has four super fast thunderbolt 3 ports, and multiple ways to connect an external monitor. This makes the mini somewhat future proof. I bought the 128 GB and have an external 512 GB SSD for my photo and video libraries. This ensures I dont run out of space. This is my Final Cut editing machine, and the ability to add an eGPU is comforting.
