Great lens
This is a great start into the ILC-6000 that I have. It's shooting around 75mm which is great for portraits. The bokeh is great, it's fast at 1.8. It's so light that OSS is not really needed but it's handy to have. I use it as a take around everywhere lens. I got it for $ but even at $ it's a no brainer. No kidding if you have a kit lens forget the zoom you have and get a nice prime.

Love it
I'm new to Sony and mirrorless cameras. I bought the Sony Alpha a6000 and this lens on Black Friday and it's one of the best camera choices I've made. I use this lens the most out of my three for it (a kit, and telephoto). This takes great portraits and low light photos with the wide aperture. I recommend this.

Nice shutter speed and sharpness.
Nice picture quality for the price. Way faster indoor continuous picture mode. Sometimes you need to backup when taking pictures of things close to you to get it in the frame. I bought it for a Sony a6000 to take indoor shots primarily.

Good lens at a reasonable price.
Bought this lens for my A6000 as the E-mount lens catalog is relatively limited...unless you are willing to move up to the Zeiss lenses and mount them on a APS-C camera? The lens is reasonably sharp and on par with other 50mm lenses from Nikon/Canon and works well on the A6000.Its f1.8 aperature is a bonus for both depth of field and low light shooting. The OSS works very well and enhances the use of this lens very much.Overall its hard to get too ... f/1.8 but not always sharp.
I bought this lens because of the wide apature. Trouble is, close up shots aren't very sharp... only a small part of the photo if you're lucky. I read about this, so I knew what I was getting. I just have to shoot a smaller apature and raise the ISO. My camera is the Sony a6000.

Fantastic lens for portraits
I am a photo enthusiast that recently purchased Sony's practical and affordable a6000. This fantastic lens produces sharp images. My only critique so far is that the AF hunts. A lot. I've only used the kit lens, which never hunted.

Excellent lens
One of the first lenses I'd recommend to buy. The OSS is great for video and just a really great portrait lens. Focusing is quick and easy.

My new go to lens
I bought this lens to attend a family members wedding. I was really surprised by the quality, clarity and vibrance of the shots. I have other multi use lenses for my Nex5, but the E50lens will be my go to from now on. Using the camera zoom to the max their was no detectable distortion and I now prefer this to the E3.5-5.6. I have nothing negative to comment, any amateur would be hard pressed to find a reason not to like this lens

Absolutamente perfecto!
No tengo absolutamente ninguna queja. Es un lente hermoso, muy bien fabricado. Lo recomiendo totalmente.

Best for portraits and candids. Solid in low light. AF works well. Really nice lens for the price!

Nice fast lens
This is a good lens for taking portraits of people and shots of distant scenes with a Sony alpha-series camera with an APS-C sensor.

Stellar image quality
I use this lens with a NEX-6 for walk-around urban photography. It has the best IQ of any lens I've used on the NEX-6---significantly sharper than any of the standard Sony zooms. However, I have not compared it with the Zeiss primes, which cost far more. It has stabilization and silent focusing, and is solidly built, considering the modest weight.

Really great lens
Starting out in SLR/mirrorless photography, I got a Sony NEX and the 19 and 30 mm Sigma lenses. This is a great addition to those, and includes stabilization and an extra stop or two for low lighting situations. I've already gotten some incredible shots in the first week.

Nice lens. Not just for portraits.
Nice portrait lens. Maybe a little slower to auto-focus than the 35mm but not too bad. Very shallow depth-of-field possible. Good construction for this format and price.

Great portrait lens
I use this lens strictly for portraits and it is excellent. I tested it out last week in very low lighting and it blew me away! I was thrilled with the quality I was able to capture with such low light. It's also lightweight and fast.

A nice portrait lens
A nice portrait lens. I use it on the A6000, and it has great bokeh. Better than spending $1000 for a CZ lens that has little improvement to show for the cost.

5 star for photos and 3 star for video
Love this little guy, sharp contrasty awesome having OS but for video (manual focus video) its tuff... the focus is not consistent, if you turn the ring fast a quarter turn it lands in a different spot than if you did the same quarter turn slow..... so say rack focus between 2 people back and forth is just not possible without hunting a bit each time (can't turn back and forth same distance with the ring, depending on the speed you turn its going to land in a different spot ALWAYS Great lens, good price only limited by the wonky manual focus

Daily Driver
This is the lens that is on my camera most of the time. It's been a joy to use. As I'm new to shooting with this type of camera, the amazing photos I'm getting with this lens and camera combo might just be average to a pro. However, I have no qualms recommending this lens to someone upgrading from a point and shoot. With it we've taken photos we love to look at.

Sharp, and sees like a cat!
This lens is great for portraits, and low light theater photography! I find that I get quick focus and accurate exposure while following moving actors again a black background. Thank you, Sony! My only concern is that the easy to attach / detach lens hood may be dislodged at an inappropriate time.

Awesome way to start photographing.
Great lens. This is actually my first lens that i bought separately and I'm loving it. Great way to star shooting portraits!

Great performance for under $300. Sharp and punchy pics with smooth bokeh using a Sony a6000 camera.

Great Depth
I bought this lens for my Sony NEX-EA50UH Camcorder the 18-200mm Servo Zoom Lens has been more than disappointing. However, the camera itself is great especially with this lens. Very shallow depth of field, and still have full use the aperture and stabilization. Granted this lens is primarily used for interviews it's still useful for other shots. It also has a great build quality. I give this lens 4 thumbs up!
