Great Camera
Was looking for an advanced point and shoot camera after tiring of lugging around camera bags and lens from SLR cameras. B&H representative was extremely helpful in answering questions. The camera takes great pictures indoors in low light and great pictures from a moving car as well.

A very versatile camera if you know how to use it
In addition to good image quality and fast lens, this P&S camera has some very useful features I wish my Canon 5D III had. For example, fine on-camera adjustment of white balance and all-direction adjustment of single focus area (or pinpoint) in addition to many other auto focus options you don't normally see in a P&S camera. The reasons that I didn't give a 5 star are 1) zoom change is slow; 2) zoom range is a little bit too short (24-75 mm) considering it's a fixed lens camera.

Wasn't what I was expecting
The LX100 is one of the most user friendly cameras. I was very excited to get it. After setting up it and purchasing a third party instruction book I went out to try it out. After I got back from 3 days of taking every kind of photo I down loaded it to my computer. I was surprised that it wasn't as sharp as I expected and had quite lot of noise. I already have 3 Lumix cameras and I have been very pleased with them. I have an old FS20 that gives v... Show More

Great images, some negatives too
As a photography teacher, I love the smooth stills and sharp video. It's a powerful but complicated camera that might confuse and frustrate beginners unless they go full-auto and stay there. The LX-100 is laid out like a classic 1950s film camera, with analog-looking dials and rings. Pros: fast and sharp lens, natural and neutral colors, oodles of actually useful features such as time lapse video. Cons : old-timey film-style controls will confuse... Show More

Beautiful Photos
I have had some great shots, I love usung wide angle and this is 24 mm and 1.7 fstop so awesome. A lot to learn with a boatload of new features for me, wi fi, on lens aperature control, bursts and many more that sound like great opportunities to get more out of photography.

Complicated, but worth the effort
This is a seriously complex camera that I could only recommend to photo hobbyists. It has a crazy number of settings for an insane collection of picture styles. The one feature it curiously lacks is shutter speeds below one second (though some users say longer exposures are possible). That's pretty strange, because the most obvious thing to do with the camera's time-lapse video is long exposures of 10-20 seconds at night. So that's a major disapp... Show More

Better than I expected
I used the camera primarily to take underwater pictures on a recent trip to Bonaire.

Not so compact but full of features.
This has a very fast lens, nice optics, micro 4/3rd sensor, plenty of features. I liked the solid feel of it. I like the EVF. I wish it had a touch screen and an articulating screen. Well, at least one or the other. It shoots 4K so it would be nice to have that articulating screen. I am so used to APS-C and above, it was very difficult for me to go backwards in sensor size. I really wanted to love this camera. It's better than the 1 inch sensor c... Show More

Do not spend your money here
Read this review before you even think about buying the Lumix LX 100 from Panasonic: The camera is a decent piece of gear to use as a street camera with a 4.3 sensor, stylish rangefinder and nice ergonomics, specially when you don't want to carry a big camera with a heavy lens around, but not worth the price, it won't fit in your pocket and has no flip screen specially the lack of a flip screen a mistake by Panasonic, the quality of the images ar... Wonderful
This is a masterpiece from Panasonic. Not perfect but very close. It's a wonderful travel camera, reasonably compact, with a wonderful lens and lots of control dials. I love control dials. The good: - Razor sharp lens - Excellent low light performance - Very high video quality - Super fast and precise auto focus - It accept filters ! - Excellent EVF and rear LCD - Well thought menus Battery life is ok but not great. Tremendous Camera
I am an experienced photographer but far from expert. This camera is perfect for me. I can set for Program, Aperture or Shutter settings. It is solid and obviously very well made. I bought a camera in the same price range several months ago and I won't mention the brand ( Coolpix was the model). Compared to the Panasonic Limix it is, by far, an inferior product. No where near as well made. I fully endorse this Panasonic.

Lumix LX100 a winner.!
Much has been said and written regards this camera but until I had it in hand and had used it I would not have believed the 'hype'. It is beautiful to handle and fits my hand like a glove. Perhaps a larger hand would not say so. Used for family/home pics as well as street and landscape, it meets my needs at this time.

A beast!
Pros: Best camera for street photography at night, hands down Incredible image quality Low noise at higher ISO Tactile controls Veritable aspect ratio Good autofocus Lots of menu options for varying levels of control and points of focus Small size relative to what you get Built like a tank Awesome image stabilization, I can shoot freehand at 1/4 second no problem Filters are actually good Cons: Lens cap is detachable so lens could conceivably be ... Not bad, but not really a classic rangefinder feel
In my quest to find a really nice digital point-and-shoot, I have tried several cameras - from Fujifilm, Pentax, and this Panasonic. I was drawn by the presumed quality of the Leica lens, the metal feel of the body and controls, and most importantly the electronic viewfinder. In the end, it was only that EVF that made me hold on to the camera for as long as I did, and I have to say I've not found another camera with as good a EVF - it's very resp... Show More

Small, powerful, feature-rich
I purchased this camera specifically for our vacation to Costa Rica recently (as well as the Panasonic leather case, which I highly recommend). As someone who owns an entry-level DSLR, I wanted to take great pictures on vacation without lugging around a large camera and 2-3 lenses. Bottom line is the more portable your camera is, the more likely you will be to carry it = more pictures! The f1.7 Leica lens is phenomenal in a $ camera. I had so much... Show More

I love how this camera has a lot of great features in a small point & shoot. The Leica lens produces great quality pictures despite the fact that it only has a 12MP sensor. I really love that you can quickly and easily change the format size by just a switch on the lens, going from 3:2, 4:3, 1:1, 16:9. I also love the switch to Macro focus feature too. I also like that when you put your eye to the viewer, it turns off the LCD display and turns on... Show More

Pure Joy
Great lens, sensor, auto focus and overall image quality in a well designed camera that is fun to use for someone who likes to use the controls and has large hands. Would have been nice to have a tilting screen and quieter image stabilization.

Sensor quality, manual mode, great lens, petite and wifi
I am a visual artist who needs to use photography for documentation of my work and when I travel. Good photos of montages and process can be taken with this camera which in my regard is a very good price / quality option for professional looking photos, without having to carry a big equipment around. I chose this camera for the size of the sensor. The sensor is the equivalent of the negative in analog, so a bigger sized sensor will give you more ... Show More

Panasonic LX100
This my portable travel camera alternative to my Canon 6D with assortment of lenses. The LX100 is portable but it's not just a point-and-shoot. It has a large (for this size camera) 4/3 sensor with larger individual photosite/diodes (commonly refereed to as pixels although that's not accurate). Larger diodes do a much better job of light-gathering, dynamic range, and capturing subtle variations in tone and exposure. At only 12 mp, I'll put this one up against most any 20 mp but smaller sensor-size camera.

One Sweet Camera
This is my only camera after leaving photography for several years and I love it. It brings back the fun of creative photography. Image quality is superb, contrary to what some have said. Some of the filter algorithms are wonderful, some are not so. Manual controls are a big plus also. If you can live with the 24mm to 75mm range, no touch screen, and not exactly pocketable...this is a well built and robust photograghic instrument that will not disappoint. Highly recommended!

Great day-to-day camera
It's an all purpose camera. Not too big, not too small. But, does not fit into your pocket. It has a vintage look and loads of manual control. Definitely produces better results than most of the point and shoot cameras out there in the market because of its sensor size and lens. Thank you B&H for shipping it so quick. One star less because of the average battery life.

An Excellent and FUN camera
I wanted something for indoors w/o flash. Since I don't like to change lenses on my G7, I thought this camera at F1.7 would do as well. I didn't count on it being so much fun to use. The direct controls are unique. I wish all cameras were controlled like that. IQ is excellent for both stills and video. It also has 4K photo capability, a feature I value. I love the LX100
