Just works and extremely low latency
I purchased this to replace the PCI version for interfacing a MOTU 2408 I use as the interface with my digital mixer. It worked flawlessly and the latency is imperceptible as claimed. I would have given it 4 stars but I'm a bit confused as to why the PCI version is completely useless in a newer PC, especially one running a 64-bit OS.

Needed it - Killed me to pay so much
Look, I've owned the MOTU 24 I/O for 8 years. It is perfect for PC recording with SONAR. Unfortunately, new PC's have PCIe slots and my earlier ones had PCI. So, all I needed was this card, not the 24 I/O unit which cost $ including PCI card years ago. They soak you for upgrade but at least B&H doesn't charge tax and shipping, unlike MOTU corp. I needed it, it works, I'm happy but my wallet is suffering a little.

Great hardware with a few Win8 kinks
I bought a brand new Dell XPS 8500 with an i7 processor, 16GB RAM, and Windows 8 after careful consideration of audio recording performance (quick note: avoid Dell laptops until further notice). Installation and setup were both simple using the latest drivers posted on motu. There are occasional latency issues and errors in Windows 8 that I can't necessarily blame on the PCIe-424.
