Almost Perfect

Jan 3, 2012

Much better than a mouse on my lap, I've used a track ball, but there are very few that are USB (and most of them are cheap and don't last very long). Button placement takes sometime to get used to. I hit the top-left button rather than bottom-left a lot, but you get used to it after a while. I like this unit.

Great Product needs one fix

Aug 22, 2011

I'm an editor and I've been using Kensington Trackballs for ages. The large trackball enables you to effortlessly zoom around the screen and programmable keys help speed up your workflow. I especially like to have a return or enter key located on a button. My one complaint is that for some reason you can only program one keystroke for each button and chord. Older versions of TrackBallWorks used to allow you to program a string of characters per button but that function has been removed for some reason. What's up with that Kensington?

No more running the mouse to the edge of the pad and having to recenter and reselect. Extremely smooth and precise.

The Legend Lives On!

May 30, 2011

I've been using Kensington trackballs for about 16 years. I forget what they called the with one with the wheels but that was my first. I moved to expert mouse when optical technology came out. I still use an Expert Mouse wireless, an Expert Mouse, and now this SlimBlade. Believe me folks NOBODY makes a trackball as smooth as Kensington. I got this SlimBlade to use with my HP laptop because I just couldn't stand the products offered by Microsoft ... Show More

graphic design, using 'adobe cs3, corel x5 and xara pro 5'using it in a 32 and 64 bit environment with hot key functions, does everything that the expert mouse does plus 2 more functions... SlimBlade does not come with installation disk and there are more than two versions, so match firmware with model no. on bottom of unit.. it's a quality product from 'kensington', and the best place to get it from is 'b&h photo', because of great pricing...

Tops for Ease, Comfort and Precision

Nov 17, 2010

I'm at the computer 12 hours/day and I find a trackball much better than a mouse for my hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. My Logitech Trackball developed floating cursor and I couldn't cure it. I looked at lots of recommendations from friends and relatives, but no one mentioned the Kensington SlimBlade Trackball. I found it on my own, and it is perfect for me. The large ball makes for easy cursor precision. Its simple clean design is very appealin... Show More

Nice Hardware Needs Better Software

Feb 15, 2010

I bought this product to replace a very old (but very reliable) Kensington Expert Pro Trackball. I am a graphic designer with a neurological condition that causes tremors in my hands, so I needed a large ball and buttons. I have no problems with the hardware here, but the software was sadly lacking in giving me the speed, acceleration, drag and right-click control I needed for my graphic apps. It was necessary to install additional software to co... Show More
