Good Blu Ray, DVD and CD player
This drive is reasonably priced and plays most any disk. Works as expected. It has burning software but NO playing software like Power DVD in the box. Playing software has to be located, downloaded and installed before the drive is usable.

Very unhappy with this drive
This external drive will not read blu ray disks using my new MIS gaming laptop or the other two hi-end computers in my home. It takes at least 10 minutes to view the folders on the disk, but it will never actyakkt open a file, no matter how long I wait. It does read DVD's, but I purchased it specifically for blu ray disks. Have been working with several rather "clueless" support personnel at ASUS. Finally, they are asking me to send it in.

View, Burn, and Be careful
The drive looks nice and comes with a stand, but the usb port on the drive itself is hard to plug into sometimes. The drive views and burns disk with ease. But beware that you have the codecs install for dvd and Blu-ray if you want to watch movies. Also, not all laptop displays are rated for Blu-ray even if stated as HD Display.

Blu-Ray Made Easy
On deadline for an award submission I discovered that my documentary had to be delivered on Blu-ray. I didn't have time to research or shop. I feel very fortunate to have had a perfect experience with this burner. Other than the fact that my iMac did not immediately detect the device (and after a Final Cut reload, iMac restart and a cold boot failed) I used Disk Utility where the drive appeared with a drop-and-drag option.
